didn't check the speed (exact values). Patriot Burst 240GB.

Same as your case. After the cache is full it shows the actual write speed of Patriot's SSD. Normal loading programs or open files won't feel the impact but when copy GBs of files it's not as fast as other better SSD.

Those are PCI slots, not PCIe slots, and so the SSD adapter and the WiFi 6 card will not work on it icon_idea.gif

Note that the white and black PCIe slots operate at PCIe 2.0 x8/x4 respectively, if you have a discrete GPU installed on the first slot (i.e. the dark blue PCIe slot) icon_idea.gif

The white PCIe slot will run at PCIe 2.0 x8, which gives you a theoretical maximum of 4GB/s speeds (or equivalent PCIe 3.0 x4) icon_idea.gif
On the other hand, the black PCIe slot will run at PCIe 2.0 x4, which translates to a maximum of 2GB/s speeds icon_idea.gif

Do note that PCIe to NVMe adapters may not work properly due to the BIOS may not handle booting from PCIe storage correctly, and you may need to use certain tools like Clover UEFI to work:
https://www.win-raid.com/t2375f50-Guide-NVM...der-method.html

That being said, a WiFi 6 adapter should work fine as long as you have the correct drivers for it icon_idea.gif

That's perfectly fine, as the real world difference between SATA and NVME are not very large to say the least icon_idea.gif

Crucial MX500 2TB SATA for portable external backup... overkill...? I do weekly backup with it, mostly around 150GB a time...

I would go all out 4TB if not becoz of the exorbitant price for 860 EVO, and MX500 tops out at 2TB only.

And 4TB 2.5" internal HDD can't get locally without buying those complete external solution aka enclosures, since I got plenty enclosures lying around.
