hi. Probably the wrong place to ask but my safari on my office wifi, a lot of website "Cant find server". Why is that? LYN forum ok. Some bank sites cannot. Tried clearing the cache and set DNS to google 8.8.8.8 but still the same. Any ideas?

No issues on my home wifi.

Check to see if your office uses a proxy server as well as a mandatory DNS routing. Some workplaces have these in place and you can't access sites

have 2020 Intel MBA bought in May 2020 new from apple website. house had a power surge / blackout recently and one of the things that's spoilt is the MBA power adapter. laptop itself is fine.

wondering if possible to put the adapter in for a warrenty claim? if not, are there any 3rd party adapters I should consider or just get the original @ RM319

I'm using the Baseus GaN 65W charger. Works fine. I wanted a charger for multiple devices so this was good. You can get the Lite version which is cheaper.

I use the Xiaomi 34" widescreen monitor using a Display Port cable to USB-C for the MBA as well as my company's MBP.

Does it run at full resolution? Can you link to the cable you're using? Thanks!

Yes in full resolution and at 144Hz refresh rate for both the MBA M1 and the MBP M1.

I purchased mine from Shopee.

Has anyone used the Mac M1 in clamshell mode with a bluetooth keyboard? When I need to enter my password to login during a fresh startup, I can't use the bluetooth keyboard because it's not connected yet? So I always have to enter view its built-in keyboard first. Once logged in only I can start using the bluetooth keyboard. Is that normal?

Unlikely, there are very, very few instances of hardware launches during WWDC but it's not entirely impossible. There is a rumour of a new design MBP though, and not MBA.

That doesn't sound normal at all, I use both my MBA and MBP M1 in clamshell mode but I connect to them using the Apple Wireless Keyboard (gen 1) though.

Are they connected immediately even before you login to your account? I mean, when you start up fresh, there's usually a login page where you enter your password. Can you enter your password using the bluetooth keyboard? Btw, my keyboard is connected directly via bluetooth and not USB receiver. Not sure if that makes a difference.

Yes, I can connect immediately and enter the password using the keyboard. No issues there. This is using the Apple Keyboard (gen 1 with the two AA batteries).

Why don't you unpair the devices, delete the plist with all bluetooth devices and start pairing them again?

Latest disk write reading. I'm averaging 1.5TBW/mo. At a conservative rating of 150TBW, my SSD should last over 8 years with my workload.

i disabled swap file usage in mac os and i change my browser from chrome to safari. and i try to use only m1 native app. after all these my daily ssd usage is roughly 6~10gb only. my usage is only surfing net and youttube anyway.

i tried install counterstrike:go from steam, dl size is about 10gb-ish. after install the game the ssd write shoot to 40gb+.so i guess apple really design the ssd to be used in this way.
