I believe he was asking why did CleanMyMacX reported to him that his system only had 300mb of free available RAM rather than the total amount of memory in his system.
*
ah yea, you are right. macOS typically used up all the RAM you throw at it, even 64GB is nothing for it laugh.gif

Do you guys use CleanMyMac X on your new MBA M1? I ordered mine with 16gb RAM, but when I check on CleanMyMac X, it usually says I only have available RAM of less than 300MB. And I only have WhatsApp, Safari and Mail running.

I installed it last week. Since I restored from time machine, I found it useful to clean out junk and old system files. For the memory question, other users have answered you. In my case, the system used up 9-10GB out of 16GB ram.

Thanks for the replies! Got another question, is it safe to install Windows on the M1 system using Parallel? I'm hesitating, but I've got a project that requires the use of a software that is only available on Windows.

Yes that is because the difference in OS is that MacOS tends to utilise all of the available RAM in the system even when there are minimal apps running.
The new mantra is "Unused RAM is wasted RAM" and now Memory Pressure (not free-memory), is the new metric to follow. (Green is good).

So the higher the green bar the better?

Can, Windows ARM will emulate Windows x86 software. So far I just use it to play some Windows only Steam games.

hi. Probably the wrong place to ask but my safari on my office wifi, a lot of website "Cant find server". Why is that? LYN forum ok. Some bank sites cannot. Tried clearing the cache and set DNS to google 8.8.8.8 but still the same. Any ideas?

No issues on my home wifi.

So no solution. Need to use other browser?
But ok with my home WiFi. So not a safari issue. It is the network problem. Tried using vpn also same issue.
