ddkl, that factory sale was meant to clear the out-going model, 805, 875 and 905 as EU was going to get new models at that time. Nevertheless, it was worth buying it.

I doubt there will be any such sale for current models.

Hi guys, I'm new here.

I've got this onkyo 5.1ch set which I brought back from Japan around 3 years ago.
Model name is BASE-V10X. Got it for around rm1.2k during a sale there (2005).
I brought it back to malaysia and then for no reason either the AV controller or amp-cum-subwoofer failed (got some buzzing noise after a few minutes turning it on)...
Sent it to Hwee Seng in PJ and they say cannot repair... rm50 burnt just like that.
I think the 5 sattelite speakers are still working, so,

my questions are:

1. Where can I find an onkyo amp and subwoofer near KLCC or Bukit Bintang? I've read through the thread and I have to say I have no idea where the shops you guys say are located...

2. Is there an onkyo amp that's as small as the one I had? The size is 155Width×94Height×287Depth (mm)

3. Since the speakers are small, any recommendations for an amp that would fit in with the speakers? If I'm not mistaken, I have to match the impedance(?) or whatever for the speakers to the amplifier...
Btw, the impedance for the speakers are 6ohms, max output 30W, frequency range 125Hz-25kHz

4. My budget is around 2.5k for the amp and subwoofer... Any recommendations?

Any help would be much appreciated.

BASE-V10X looks like this:

The AV controller looks like this:

I'm keen on 607, since from Onkyo's website is the same price 606.

Hi,
I'm owner of Onkyo 905 hook to Tannoy Dual Concentric speaker, source is Pioneer 969 & CA 640 V2. Very good combination with warm musical sound but may be in bright side.

This Onkyo AVR a lot better than my Yamaha RXV2500 THX.
Yamaha sound very clean but not in musical side. With Yamaha AVR much use with sub for bass. Denon AVR in the middle.

I have try Sherwood combination 965A & 965P, very powerful & musical.

For HT in same level, new will be better than older but not for stereo amp (for music) esp. tube amp.
I still finding DIY person to make me LEAK vintage tube amp.

maybe they export to singapore then malaysia import back from singapore?
can put more expensive price for shipping and taxes.

btw, anyone know where to find onkyo home theatre systems (all in a box)?
I went to pavillion the other day but cannot find one...

ttp://www.intl.onkyo.com/products/system_components/home_theater/index.html

One more thing, any place can sell old/unusable/junk A/V equipment ah?
I got a 40-something-ish inch monitor, unusable yamaha amp, unusable sony LD player, unusable onkyo a/v receiver & subwoofer, 4 tannoy sattelite speakers and some other a/v crap...
I got so many garbage in my room, i can't put any new stuff in.

Dear all,

I'm still contemplating between an onkyo 705 and a 606. I went to CMY yesterday and they mentioned that both are the same except that 606 has an video upscaler but the 705 does not have. However, the price diff is about Rm1k.

My question is, which 1 is more worth it? My budget is more to 705 actually.

Thanks
