Hi,
I'm owner of Onkyo 905 hook to Tannoy Dual Concentric speaker, source is Pioneer 969 & CA 640 V2. Very good combination with warm musical sound but may be in bright side.

This Onkyo AVR a lot better than my Yamaha RXV2500 THX.
Yamaha sound very clean but not in musical side. With Yamaha AVR much use with sub for bass. Denon AVR in the middle.

I have try Sherwood combination 965A & 965P, very powerful & musical.

For HT in same level, new will be better than older but not for stereo amp (for music) esp. tube amp.
I still finding DIY person to make me LEAK vintage tube amp.

I just put notebook cooler big fan on top, switch on only after 3 or 4 hours running my Onkyo 905. Find a very low noise fan, no need fast fan. Normally my AVR running at whole night without fan.

I power the notebook cooler fan using my Onkyo 905 AVR USB port.
One simple solution if your Onkyo AVR don't have USB port, just buy USB hub with power adapter. Connect the USB power fan to USB hub.
