People been selling Proton GKUI crack at FB - able to launch Spotify, Netflix, YouTube etc for price of RM500.

Spend that money and use it at your own risk. You never know what hanky panky stuff they have put into. And IMO it ain’t worth rm500 when such crack is supposed to be free, affordable at least.

No specialised hardware is needed. AA and Carplay is basically just making your phone having a second display, and having that display shown on your head unit. And the code to do so is open, hence why countless of Chinese manufacturers are able to intergrate it in those Chinese Android Head Units, as well as using something like Head Unit Reloaded from the play store.

I also have used a no-name, cheap chinese radio (not even a "real" head unit) that supports Android Auto and Carplay that I installed in my Saga. So if Proton wants to include AA or Carplay in their HU, I believe the easily can do so.

Agree, at this point of time despite the weaknesses of not having AA and Carplay the car still sells like hotcake without sign of slowing down. In cost perspective they have no reason to rush for this + having AA & Carplay may have conflicts with its existing integrated voice command.

I still hope the next change brought from Atlas Auto could have AA and Carplay developed.

I have no qualms with him but I didn't like he spread that the modified qdlink is with virus when it's obviously just a one line change of code.

i only hate his approach that he use these services and said satisfied etc where he's the one owns it. kinda not ethic but legal.

Yup, he had contributed quite a lot to Proton X50 tech related stuff, but I just dislike his way of doing business too. The way he promote his business annoys me as well. Kept on saying he bought the service, promoting owner is good, and not admitting he is the owner pulak. Just my personal feelings yeah guys

Ya it looks laggy. Might be headunit reloaded take a lot processing in background. Or the link between phone and HU not good. It’s basically mirroring the info from your phone anyway. So might have delay?

I am using HU Reloaded myself (not on a Proton head unit tho, but Android HU), and it shouldn't take that much processing power (it's smooth even on my old 1GB android head unit). I presume either his phone itself is quite underpowered to run Android Auto, or he is running an Android emulator on top of the Proton Head Unit, which leads to HU Reloaded being slower than it should.

Either way, that is really laggy.

Learn something new, i tot AA need some certified hardware or software like GMS.

You using android HU on x50? Or other car?

Other car. One using Android Head Unit + Head Unit Reloaded, another using a cheap Chinese radio (that is not even running Android/linux) which amazingly has a decent built in Android Auto function.

Got my chasis number from SA on Monday, settled the downpayment n loan agreement ytd, excited for my x50 now!

Mine is Executive, i only can say its very very very fast, actually i changed my dealer and SA, old SA very kns from the start, with the type of "idgaf" attitude, dont like the way he talk n communicate with me, got the kind of "look down on you" maybe because im quite young....and my 1st time buying a car, so i dont know the process and everything is very new to me

The new SA very very very friendly and most important very fast n superb. But i open colour except blue, my 1st choice is Orange but my SA called me gt JetGrey want or not, so to avoid SST, i just take it haha
