Kenwood it seems said by SA. Proton always works with Kenwood.
The mids are not so clear maybe below average for me.

It won’t work. In order to use this dongle, you would need to side load autokit app apk into the android of the car.

GKUI doesn’t allow side load of apps. Is there a new way to side load apps?

Hi guys, long time lurker here.

Now since SST extended got more chance to have X50.

Can you guys check my theory since QDLink do not allow sideload of apps, can we mirror an Android device, and sideload the CarPlay dongle app on that Android? Picture for clarity.

Means we need to buy the following: (I feel investment is less)
1. Cheap android tablet / phone to hide and mirror
2. USB hub & USB cables
3. CarPlay dongle for android.

Can it work?

Will ask over at X70 as well.

Target outcome would be using Apple CarPlay from the screen directly with touch capability.
This include Waze, Spotify, etc.
I found other ways to sideload APK in GKUI but need to install China Geely firmware instead. Very scary if goes wrongly.

Russia forum managed to get it to work after installing China firmware.

Meh. Then will resort to android phone staying in the car with QDLink and hotspot to my iPhone then.

This way at least can use Waze and Spotify / YouTube music with the display touch capability.

iPhone will just Bluetooth.

This one shows how to use QDLink. It's like a China version of Android Auto.
QDLink with iPhone is just screen mirroring with no touch function.

If you really like the car, if I were in your shoes, I will take the package, sell the parts you don't need.
But it's only my opinion.

1. Power boot is a good addition. A lot of review complain there's no proper grab handle to open the boot.
Power boot if installed outside is maybe RM1'500, RM1'800 with installation. Add Proton tax maybe it's about RM2'300.
By Proton you don't have to worry about warranty voiding if they want to threaten like that.

2. Selling other parts such as smart tag, side window cover, mats may help to recover some cost.

3. If you cancel now and find a new SA, and by the time have to pay tax, it's actually cheaper to take the package at least you have additional things.
Proton Appreciation Package wanted to implement in January was garbage and I thought they would at least give the add on package for free.

4. Also cancelling your booking and getting a new one, being out of the first 20000 booking, there will not be free 1st service parts (RM200+) and free 4th and 5th labour service charges.

I don't think making consumer report will help to solve the case. Just my 2 cents.
It's a capitalism world. If you don't take the car, someone else would gladly take so Proton or dealer is milking whatever they can now. Profit is profit.

Mine also my SA suddenly called yesterday saying I’m in the advanced sth category. Ask me to bank in the remaining into the Proton Edar account.

I asked for chassis no. he say haven’t arrive and now PKP and need to wait 1 week for car.

Very weird. All want to collect payment and ask us to sign loan agreement before any chassis number. Maybe they also afraid after the car come no takers. Or some internal politics.

I told him if I’d have chassis number I will bank in the remainder. That is good enough right? Will they say the chassis number sorry Proton mistake belong to another customer later?

But confirm the modification he used can work. QDlink works for any app.
Android auto on X50 is guuuud.

Anyone knows app compiling can follow his steps to compile with same changes but without the trojan?

Your link is the original version. Youtube or any unlisted app in QDLink will not work when you're driving.
With the modified app you can watch youtube or on android auto while driving.

For those looking to do Android Auto wireless.

Technically what you do is have 2 android phones.

Android phone A: Android Auto master with wifi hotspot & connected via QDlink to cable X50.
Android phone B: Connected to Android Phone A via wifi and provide the android auto info.

Or the easier way is all having your main phone with Android Auto app and connect via QDlink directly.
Either way at least we solved having Android Auto in X50.

And it's proper android auto with touch from the display too.

I still think FS looks best with Grey or Silver.
Those other colours are not to my taste.
If want me to rank it will be Grey, Silver, Blue, Orange, Red

Last time after 1 month only I got the SMS.
But I log in since 1 week before I got the car and I can see the car location / mileage etc.

Register and login with the same phone number.
Go to the last user button, you might be able to see the car there. click on it and set as "Default Vehicle".

SMS is to activate the 1gb for me.
Before the SMS, the data quota is ---. After the SMS, I can see the 1gb counting down.

Hi all, updates for those having issues with airbag failure.

Past 2 weeks have intermittent airbag failure appeared. I assumed it’s loose connection anyway brought to Proton to check.

End up it’s items (shoe, umbrella) I put under the driver seat and it touched some wiring there that caused the airbag failure alarm to appear. Now it’s empty under the driver seat.

I have 2 questions.
1. Wind issue above 80kmh (not the whistling sound), since there’s a fix for newer batch, did anyone managed to compare between the old and new batch?

2. TPMS, is there any issue if I rotate the tires? Do I need to bring to Proton to swap the tire locations?

Out of all the colours I keep seeing.
I find my jet grey is boring but safe. (Neutral)
White is the best with flagship and the panda colour but need to protect to avoid the stains.
Red is too sharp and I don’t like it.
Blue and orange just not my preference too. Orange and red will blend with the red bow in front

I did my first Genting drive yesterday. Fun! No regrets with this car. I thought the downhill assistance will help me gear brake when I am braking. Turn out not. Useless.
