Most likely not much different. There are many BMW or Mec OE are with special mark but many drivers change after market without the OE mark and performance just similar. Btw CR1 an entry level tyre and we can't ask for more compare to touring or sport tyre. If we take comparison between the entry level product I will not recommend CR1.

If you never into detail data collection, you will just assume. Different OE tires does got different requirements even for the same tires.

https://www.tyrereviews.com/Article/Should-...it-OE-Tyres.htm

Example like this PS4S tires, BMW * OE tires are tune for dry performance, while the same but aftermarket tires are tune for wet performance.
Same tires but different outcome.

If it were "performance" car of course it has different for OE and aftermarket. But for normal passenger car the OE and after market almost similar. This Toyo CR1 is entry level tyre and don't expect it has obvious impact like the one fitted in BMW or Merc. Btw I own a new Alza the tyre is very bad performing in wet and I don't believe the after market OE will have significant improvement because it is still same pattern CR1.

Indeed.

The OE tire for Mitsu Xpander is Toyo Proxes CR1 A.

The similar aftermarket tire available is Toyo Proxes CR1.

Even their tire thread patterns are different.

Sharing info from my axia 2024, toyo cr1 175,65 r14

26k+ kms, grip is still decent
Thread about 30%+, but the tyre noise is pretty obvious and it's starting to bug me. Even when it's new also it's quite noisy, so I'm not sure if it's the tyre that's making most of the noise, or is it the the lack of insulation.

I've got no good comparison as my previous car was running rovelo tyres.

I believe depending on the road surface and also owner preference, i got friends also complain about tyre noise from CR1, but for my Kelisa 165/55/r14 size seems normal even when compare to previous Yokohama ES32. if not satisfied, may change to other brand in future.

In the absence of a current wheel alignment report for front and rear tires, IF the tyre lifespan can't exceed 50/60K km with a residual tread depth of 1.6-2.0'ish mm the tyre noise may be an indication of a wheel alignment issue.

That's interesting to know, how's your mileage vs noise from the cr1 so far?

Holyshit you have a messy and big wheel alignment problem on hand to handle bro, if ever it could be overcome.

No, it's not tyre brand/model/manufacturing/design problem.

Sorry,i don't quite understand how bad is it. First glance looks very minor.

You'll need to elaborate further,car is only 1 year old+. Axia 2024

Alignment adjustment according the the reading on the right.

Been using almost 20,000km on the road for the CR1, seems normal for road noise, not excessive.

The rear wheel alignment is not only bad, it is real real bad.

Read your rear Total Toes value (3.8/2.2 mm).

In order not to cluster this thread on CR1 tyres, I'll suggest you pose the question/problem of your tyre noise, accelerated tyre wear rate etc on a thread (Alignment Discussion - How to interpret wheel alignment numbers?) started by me as follows:

https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/5080912

Meanwhile Google and read up on topics like types of tyre wear pattern, cambers, toe in, toe out, rear torsion beam design etc.

No.
It's not the old spec or the new spec, ,(if any) OR tight wheel alignment specification range or the wide/loose specification range in itself that leads to the accelerated tyre wear rate that results in accelerated increase in tyre noise level.

It's the absolute values of rear tire toes (despite a certain margin of errors of measurement) that causes accelerated tyre wear > accelerated tyre noise increase in this case.

What tire size? Many new SUV tire in market nowadays, if can accept Ventus P4/Ecopia HL001 pricing better consider Yokohama or Falken tires.
Yokohama latest tires got a lot of good feedback interm of silent & comfort use at a value price point (compare to Michelin)

Pirelli Russo/P1 SUV
Yokohama Advan V61
Falken ZIEX CT60

Yes, in term of budget.
Everything got pro & con, if want better braking, cornering performance might need to pay higher for others.
