Been using the CR1 for 3 months now.. Do any users find that these tyres seems to be a bit floaty when travelling at higher speed (e.g. 100kmh and above?

Yup especially when the road a bit uneven and bends it gets worse. Braking also not good need to break early but tyre is quiet and should have long treadwear

Since the ES32 is cheaper than CR1, go for the ES32.. It is a comfort tyre..

CR1>Ecopia in many ways

CR1 is grippier, less noisy, and less rolling resistance. Used the tyre for a year now after changing from Ecopia.

Feels like CR1 is the best among all equivalent range of tyres

tayar bengkak probably.
can hear the humming noise around 80kmh then it fades as you go faster. bearing noise gets noisier as you go faster. thats the difference between worn wheel bearing and tayar bengkak.

my michelin xm2 bengkak after 5 years so fair game i guess. tread still a lot left but will need to replace anyway because of the bengkak. cr1 bengkak after just 1 year is not good...

I think I get what you mean.. It is a slight humming sound and it gets louder when speed increases but not as loud as a faulty wheel bearing.

I experienced this on my front passenger side.

To me XM2 doesn't justify the cost of ownership. It is super loud and hard after 2 years.

Old post but thought I'd post here since I've experienced the same humming sound on new Continental UC6 tyres fitted on the Nissan Almera. I've used Toyo CR1 before (new tyres) on Ford Focus and there's no humming issue at all.

I am not sure if the humming sound from the tyres is due to the tyre itself ie. swollen, hard rubber of the tyre, or something else that is contributing to the humming sound not related to tyres. When I experienced the humming sound from the new tyres (Continental UC6) on the new car, I brought it to the service centre to complain. The wheel bearing was checked and reported to be not the cause of the humming sound. Then, the vehicle was sent to the Continental tyre shop, arranged by the service centre representative. Several checks and test drives were carried out by the tyre shop which including checking the thickness of the rubber and balancing, swapping all 4 tyres around rear to front and front to rear etc. In the end it's a futile exercise as the humming sound is still there. In summary there is no solution so have to live with the humming sound before the tyres are all worn out and replaced to new tyres. Hopefully the humming sound will be gone after replacing the tyres to new tyres.

The humming sound only comes up at around 30km/h to 80 km/h, and only on bad or rough surface roads. On good condition road surface it's silent or very soft humming sound. The humming sound gets loud only when the vehicle travels on certain road surface where the bituminous surface is rougher or worn out.
