QUOTE(kuli2sahaja @ Jan 9 2022, 12:19 AM) Done 5k km on 235/40/18 CR1 at RM410/pc (Sabah). Overall quite happy with the dry performance and way better in the wet than my previous Dunlop DZ102 which aquaplane like crazy whenever over 100km/h. Hope it lasts at least 30k? DZ102 gone at 22K (lowered but only -2 camber) My beemer is also using DZ102, no issues with aquaplane on highway speeds of average 110~140km/h during normal rain condition. Please check your suspension settings i believe something wrong. This post has been edited by littlefire: Jan 20 2022, 06:01 PM

QUOTE(shyan90's @ Sep 25 2024, 01:23 PM) Hi, any long term review on this CR1? I now using pirelli cinturato p7 which plans to get rid of it once it start wear.....225/50 r17 around how much per piece? It is still a budget tire, but if your driving thru corners in high speed it is not good. Felt few times the car like to sway in corners, normal road driving is ok.

QUOTE(shyan90's @ Sep 27 2024, 01:16 PM) Ok. So for normal road driving is all right? I not those kaki TTs session and etc.. just daily commute less than 20km per day. Yearly round trip maybe 1000km only. Normal non demanding driving is good.

QUOTE(shyan90's @ Sep 27 2024, 10:59 PM) Ok sure. If above Proxes CR1 any option? Would like to stick back Toyo https://www.toyotiresasia.com/tire-size-sea...o50&size=size17Just go Toyo website to check your tire size got any other models. TR1 consider as UHP tires, while CF2 is imported tire model from Japan for premium touring. Cost for sure is more expensive than CR1.

QUOTE(abangmantap @ Nov 25 2024, 09:47 AM) Regretted fitting Toyo Proxes into my cars. Within 3 years needed to change even when mileage was low. These tires are really for budget. Changed to continental UC7 and CC. Drives so much better. And yes, obviously you pay for the quality. Just that i dont think it is worth using cheap tires since the quality of the drive is improved by quite a lot with only maybe 30% more in price I believe this depends on your driving style and do you really do allignment/balancing/rotation like every 5~10k? I am using it on my smaller Kelisa ride already near 20k still see the treads like got 50~60% left, estimate should be able to last around 40~50k easily before hitting the safety line.

QUOTE(Bigboyz @ Nov 4 2024, 10:03 PM) I’m using the CR1 195/60R16 overall it’s quite good overall and never had any issue with the grip. Just on highway it may feel a little floaty when traveling at faster speeds. Would the Michellin primacy 4 fare any better? Primacy is consider premium touring tires, overall should fare better as you pay more expensive. https://www.tyrereviews.com/Search/Size/195...6/Season/Summer Others tire to considerate - Faken ZE310, Hankook VP4 & Maxxis HP5 This 3 are mid-range tires, which i think is quite value for money for the performance given.

QUOTE(autodriver @ Dec 5 2024, 03:21 PM) Most likely not much different. There are many BMW or Mec OE are with special mark but many drivers change after market without the OE mark and performance just similar. Btw CR1 an entry level tyre and we can't ask for more compare to touring or sport tyre. If we take comparison between the entry level product I will not recommend CR1. If you never into detail data collection, you will just assume. Different OE tires does got different requirements even for the same tires. https://www.tyrereviews.com/Article/Should-...it-OE-Tyres.htmExample like this PS4S tires, BMW * OE tires are tune for dry performance, while the same but aftermarket tires are tune for wet performance. Same tires but different outcome.

QUOTE(amscouzach57 @ Dec 12 2024, 08:21 PM) Indeed. The OE tire for Mitsu Xpander is Toyo Proxes CR1 A. The similar aftermarket tire available is Toyo Proxes CR1. Even their tire thread patterns are different. Yes, even my mechanic side got 1 Lexus GX350 OE tires is Dunlop SP Sport Maxx 060, while the aftermarket selling is Dunlop SP Sport Maxx 060+. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BvEzTUq_c6gThere are youtube video comparing both also.

QUOTE(waka14 @ Jun 3 2025, 12:12 AM) Sharing info from my axia 2024, toyo cr1 175,65 r14 26k+ kms, grip is still decent Thread about 30%+, but the tyre noise is pretty obvious and it's starting to bug me. Even when it's new also it's quite noisy, so I'm not sure if it's the tyre that's making most of the noise, or is it the the lack of insulation. I've got no good comparison as my previous car was running rovelo tyres. I believe depending on the road surface and also owner preference, i got friends also complain about tyre noise from CR1, but for my Kelisa 165/55/r14 size seems normal even when compare to previous Yokohama ES32. if not satisfied, may change to other brand in future.

QUOTE(waka14 @ Jun 8 2025, 02:10 AM) That's interesting to know, how's your mileage vs noise from the cr1 so far? Been using almost 20,000km on the road for the CR1, seems normal for road noise, not excessive.

QUOTE(sCid00 @ Sep 17 2025, 10:04 PM) Between these 4..which is the better option? Goodyear Assurance Maxguard SUV Toyo Proxes CR1 SUV Hankook Ventus Prime4 Bridgestone Ecopia HL001 What tire size? Many new SUV tire in market nowadays, if can accept Ventus P4/Ecopia HL001 pricing better consider Yokohama or Falken tires. Yokohama latest tires got a lot of good feedback interm of silent & comfort use at a value price point (compare to Michelin) Pirelli Russo/P1 SUV Yokohama Advan V61 Falken ZIEX CT60

QUOTE(BL98 @ Sep 22 2025, 11:49 AM) michelin PS4, after 3 years the tyre starts to rot Thread peel off and rot is totally different ya, a lot of premium tires due to softer rubber compound will encouter similar issues. Bridgestone, Yokohama, Pirelli, Continental also i seen some tire model also can treads peel off. FYI the outer rubber is way more durable than you think, if you dont want to see the peel off buy those budget tires but dont expect similar benefits.

QUOTE(BL98 @ Sep 22 2025, 01:45 PM) the ps4 rot is so bad, but the tyre shop guy say still can use. meanwhile budget tyre looks nice even after so many years Yes, for sure if tread only peel off usually just the outer layer. You know what is serious, only when you see metal shreds. If you never been in motorsports, a lot of them drive until can see metal shreds still running around race track before it burst (Usually this level you will see a lot of smoke, sparks and burning rubber smell). To reach that level you need to drive very extream which most normal users wont even can meet. This post has been edited by littlefire: Sep 22 2025, 01:51 PM
