wubi seems pretty solid. it looks to simple im scared to try it. lol.but you are not running ubuntu in a virtual machine, you are running it natively. which you might not want to do

thanks for the help. the 30 days trial is the same as the one i found in download.com too.. seems its the most solid vmware. think i'll give it a try

Simple , ubuntu is pretty good enough. It can do most of your winblows stuff already..Its not going to harm your PC

If you need any help with ubuntu or so , feel free to MSN Me

I've a question: Are some areas affected or are all areas affected?

I've been running KTorrent, not Deluge on Ubuntu Feisty (Deluge gives me painfully low speeds, whereas KTorrent spins up to 50kB/s in less than half a minute.). I haven't tried downloading a torrent in Windows for a very long time already, but I didn't notice any change in speed when I disabled encryption in KTorrent.

EDIT: I just tried again, and I'm getting 5kB/s torrent speed. Not bad huh.

got decent speeds without even using VPN! biggrin.gif

hopefully some of the private trackers won't ban this client!

"i pity the fools" (lol mr. t) that pay for VPN servers. free is good. i dont see why trackers would ban this client.

hi everyone,
i've been trying this deluge now

one thing i'm wondering is about the port...
do i need to change the port or keep it default ?
cos i'm only getting 10 kBps, never more than that ?
or any setting do i need to change ?

Hey this works great. Thanks for sharing praveenmarkandu rclxms.gif
Really getting unthrottled speeds now. My utorrent used to just go from 10-20kB/s. Now at a blazing 100+kB/s with deluge thumbup.gif

About the port I have been using the default ones. I am behind a router too and surprisingly i did not need to set anything.

Deluge Torrent (www.deluge-torrent.org) can encrypt the FULL STREAM of traffic out of a bt client
*
I wanna know more but the website is not very clear on how the encryption works.
Doesn't it require that other peers also use Deluge in order to maximise the full benefits of this encyption?

Nope, as u can see in the peer list most of it are with utorrent or bitcomet.

okay. basically you can set your port to whatever. just pick a random port. mines like 12879 (try not to pick the old default bittorrent ports 6881-6999) (BUT DONT CHECK THE "RANDOM PORTS" box also. Specify your own port). you dont need to set a port range. if you just want 1 port then put the same number for both entries. refer to my attachment. i use deluge 0.54 now even though the screenshot was from 0.53.
you have to then forward the ports on your router to let anything through effectively. i think its best to disable UPnP and NAT-pmp because it might screw with your router. and on your router itself disable UPnP as well. this means you have to forward all your ports for outgoing connections manually like for VPN or battlenet.
slow speeds....well, they are torrents. and it all depends on availability. speeds always vary since 200 people might have the same piece of the file but only one person might have another piece. just have to be patient i guess. and share smile.gif thats how torrents work. i try to keep my ratio to at least 1.5

They are working on a windows port but no timeline on when it will be done.

Chances are once it is released on windows, tmnut will throttle it in a month or two.
