Good to hear that. Get some vpn to bypass the 8pm - 12am speed control by maxis, i recommend, shopee, use website if possible,if not hard to search. search surfshark vpn, DO NOT go for Nord VPN got so much trouble trying to connect, express vpn maaaybe okay, but did not try.

You can get like rm10-rm20 for an account, the account maybe illegal, but im sure you can use it for a few months or maybe even longer which is still a good bargain than subscribing it on the real website.

Hi, I am using surfshark vpn and setup in Huawei B818 router page. But when I test my speed during 8pm - 12am, the speed is still throttled. Do you know why?

Yup, same on my side. Every night from 8pm to 12am, there's a throttle from Maxis (they blame it on CMCO but the throttle seems intentional everyday same time, same speed and I think all telco does this) , reducing the overall speed to 2 Mbps and only 360p streamable. If u do a speedtest on Maxis server, shows no throttle but try doing speedtest in other servers not owned by Maxis, only 2Mbps.
*
The throttle is real and horrible. Today first day on this plan, day time can get 36-50MB. Now only 2MB .... My goodness ....

Horrible. Maxis customer service told me if I get more than 10Mbps on speedtest it's normal. But I told them youtube is showing 1-2Mbps on task manager (they say it's not reliable to measure like that).

Then I told them about packet loss in COD:Warzone they say they will investigate. lol

Most likely your sim has yet to be activated, need call in to activate

Weird
The card I put into my phone or other router, it works perfectly
Other sim like hotlink or celcom put into Maxis ZTE router, it works too

rubbish speeds, especially during peak hours. throttling or not, it is absurd.

am a user for the past year, but lately as of last month or so, the speeds are horrible. complains were made but nothing done.

it's so slow to the extend that speedtest website cant even load on my side.

strongly discourage anyone taking up this plan

its relative to location tho.

my place here unifi air, digi and celcom coverage and data is shitty.

only maxis coverage and data speed is the best.

day time speed can get up to 100mbps.

night time speed average is 10mbps.

good enough for me. biggrin.gif

Maxis said it's normal to me. but seriously 7pm-12am? ranting.gif

I told them outside of those hours i can get 60-70Mbps but during this time less than 10Mbps and Youtube only 1.5Mbps.

After consumed 300GB, the speed would be throttled to 20~30mbps. So, your location may have network congestion. And, YouTube is getting throttled at night time from 8pm~12pm at 1.5mbps whether or not you have reached 300GB.

true to certain extend because my area in PJ is somewhat same like what you mentioned, other providers are shitty or non existent.
therefore, am sort of at the mercy of maxis
but as for the speeds, i am nowhere near 100mpbs. max im getting is 20-30 on a good day or off peaks.
other than that is <10mpbs

i agree with the latter, that network congestion part, since my plan refreshes in the middle of the month. but there is no speed improvements.
and not just youtube, practically nothing loads;images dont load, zoom calls dont run, facebook doesnt load etc ranting.gif

Many users of this Go WiFi plan already confirmed all video streaming sites would get throttled to 512kbps once reaches 300GB usage. So, this plan is definitely not suitable for users who loves to watch TV.

My plan will renew next week. I guess I'm terminating it. No point for me to use this if I am at work in the morning-evening. Using Unifi Air now.

in the same predicament, mine refreshes on the 17th, no way I'm hitting 300gb so fast. Just terminate it.

Hi all, can I just walk into the store and sign up immediately, or must I leave my number for them to call me?

For SIM only, you can just go to the store/booth and pay upfront to get the sim card, activation in 5minutes iirc
For SIM + Modem, same as above but some store may not have the modem ready for you. Do call their respective maxis store beforehand

Yes, you can just walk into the Maxis store and sign up immediately walk away with the SIM only with no contract.
You may need to wait for the ZTE 4G router if that particular store has no stock, and remember, taking the 4G router will bind you into 24 months contact.
