Maxis offered a RM30 rebate for 12 months if I stay on. No TnC apply. But I told them if I can't use it from 8PM-12AM what's the use? The CS said it's the first time they have heard of such a thing and mentioned that Sabah and Sarawak is experiencing network issues. I said network issues between 8PM-12AM only?  doh.gif

Then I decided to try out for another month and I am going to continue complaining to them.

Tahi Lembu la their CS.

I triple confirmed with their sales agent, "NO THROTTLE BEFORE REACHING 300GB usage". Fine, sign the deal, first night 8PM, throttled LOL ~~~

See current speedtest:

*Consider max speed, my area bit far from the tower, can only get Band7, which around 30~50MBps max.

Btw, no need wait another month, i immediately file complain to MCMC dee:

Salam sejahtera Tuan/Puan,
Berikut adalah maklumat ringkas mengenai aduan yang telah dikemukakan oleh pihak tuan/puan kepada MCMC:
ID Aduan: 1220-01-0001304-MXS

Huraian Aduan: I've recently purchase Maxis Go Wifi with Maxis at the price of RM138 per month. One thing they didn't throttle between 8pm-12am is Speedtest.net.

Maxis kept telling we they only rely on speedtest.net. Not Windows WiFi measurement of Youtube etc.

Now I request to cancel my plan they're taking a long time to reply.

My family Streamyx was unreliable and only 4 down, 0.4 up.

Recently borrowed a TP-Link MR6400 with Maxis sim card although unsure what plan.

Was really impressed by the performance and my family subscribed to the unlimited plan. Bought for my family a TP-Link MR6400 too.

One speedtest, around 30 down, 40 up.

Going to battle test it and see whether it can fit my family needs before terminating our Streamyx.

Wow with that kind of speed on normal hours alone is already a red flag, mind you the upload speed is almost on par with what unifi air gives.
2mbps limit for 8-12pm is seriously unacceptable, even for single user since this prime time that people consume their content online, limiting this for everything hurts a lot, even for gaming. Complaining to mcmc soon

You should have got a 4G+ router instead if your location supports 4G+ network. TP Link MR6400 is a 4G only router, and so ±30mbps might be the max speed you could get using that router.
Do take note that this MaxisONE Go WiFi is not truly unlimited high speed internet, it has a quota of 300GB high speed and after that it's throttled to ±20mbps. Furthermore, all video streaming sites will be badly throttled.

Hi,
- Totally aware on the 300GB capped to 20MB, and i'm fine with that.
- Also aware on the stock router limit to 4G LTE only, and the top speed cap. Fine with that as well, i could live with 30~40MB top speed.
- TOTALLY NOT OK with 8M-12AM un-reasonable throttle across the type of consumption. If you only limit the speed to video/audio streaming, i could still open one eye close one eye and accept it. But come on, throttle hammer on the rest of web browsing? Could even barely connect to my VPN, left alone managing my big data analytic or cloud activity ...

maxis call me :-
1- created a technical investigation ticket to "siasat" in responding to my MCMC complain. Closed my MCMC complain (wut?)
2- "6PM to 6AM is our peak hours, hence we need to investigate is your area facing signal/bandwidth fatigue with too many user pool"
3- "We die die no set anything to throttle you, this is the result of peak hours, hence the speed fatigue."
4- I use my mobile phone Maxis 4G, can get 20-30MB after 8PM. "Oh no sir your phone works different from the modem"

Me responding to their "explaination":
1- What to siasat? All over Malaysia different area complaint same issue. Ok lo since you say the technical ticket is responding to my MCMC complain, you can close the MCMC complain.
2- You sure? Then why lowyat forum all area customer complaint from Sabah, Sarawak, Penang, Johor, KL?
3- Sure? So conicedence the speed down start 8PM, end 12 AM?
4- "You seriously think i'm accepting such explanation?" <-- yeah i say that out loud to the agent. I purposely swap the sim card between modem and phone, both side gave same result,
mobile postpaid 30MB, MaxisONE go WIFI 2MB.

End up please wait for the technical ticket to complete investigation, if it did not resolve they you may file another complain with MCMC.
FINE.

MAXIS ADMIN I KNOW YOU WATCHING, TECHNICAL TICKET IS C648890.

I bancuh milo tunggu tengok apa lame excuse they come out after "siasatan.
