Sayonara Android... Hello Mr. Timmy...

I seriously can't recommend the iPhone SE at RM1,999 to any Android enthusiasts bro, even though I am a self-proclaimed i-Fag laugh.gif

I'm sure that's just the dealer trying to cash in on those early adopters. Don't think that will be the official price when it launches here in Malaysia.

Calm yo tits. It could be imported set. Even AliExpress is selling cheaper at MYR 2,347.89

Local set *should* cost lesser.

I'm placing my bet on you guys. The price just doesn't make sense lol.

man, i am a hardcore poco f1 lover, still using it till this day. was thinking of selling it, but ended up using it as my second phone. im not even sure whether its my second phone, as I use it more than my oneplus 7t.

But this F2 pro at this price point and being a rebranded k30 pro, is seriously... disappointing. I guess theres nothing to look forward to anymore about poco.

Oh well... I'm always looking at long-term investment:

Hahaha, that's quite a good way of seeing it. Must admit there is some truth in that, although I do think iPhone resale values are not as high as they used to be smile.gif

Apparently, another dealer is doing another pre-order has begun at RM2499 (still not official MY price)

Ya, I think we are still expecting lower price point but at least this one is a hundred ringgit cheaper which is a good thing.

Great analysis here, appreciate you taking the time to do this. Just want to point out that:

1) android now and a phone like poco f2 will definitely have longer lifespan assuming one is okay using it without continuous updates.

2) resale value of iphone also lately is not as great as it used to be (example iphone se 2 releasing, kinda disrupted the prices of iphone 8, iphone 7)

My hypothesis:

This year is the cheapest iPhone SRP we can get.

Starting next year, once Mr. Timmy "migrate" their manufacturing outside of China, the "25% increase" SRP will be borne by the end-user.

Thanks to Donald "J"oker Trump for starting the Trade War with China. All Apple products price will sky-rocket next year.

As for Android platforms, we have plethora of choices especially mid-range prices.

Mr. Timmy's community will suffer next year onwards. So much for the eco-system strategy...

Hence, the demand for second-hand units "will" increase back again next year. So better buy the iPhone SE now and enjoy high resale value in year 2021 onwards...

This is spot on. At that price, the iPhone SE is definitely a better option. The only downside is the screen, but most people can live with that.

The best thing about the iPhone SE isn't the specs, but that the processor is well-equipped to run the next 4-5 years without any problems and that Apple will provide constant software updates. Hence how our bro Azhar's calculation on cost of ownership is derived smile.gif

It’s not always about the specs, as I’ve learned bouncing back and forth between iOS and Android over the years. I’m on Android now but will be going back to iOS after my phone gives up. The SE is definitely an attractive mid-range phone with solid price.

The latest Pocophone lost it’s biggest selling point, which is the lowest price for a mid-range phone.

Yeah, with the iPhone it's never about specs.

Anyways, let's see the official MY price when it launches here. One thing is for sure, it won't be RM1,2** as per the old Poco F1.

Just got my k30 pro zoom this evening... Something is definitely off with this phone's battery performance.

Its kinda insane by my usage standard. All my previous phones had around 3000mah battery (biggest was Note8), but all of them can barely survive 3.5 hours SOT. But this phone is currently reaching 4hrs mark and still have 65 percent of battery charge. Sure the battery size is definitely bigger, but I didn't expect it to be this good.

Ah that sucks. Usually it gets disappointing for most people because they don't really know what they are doing. Finger crossed, time will tell 😄
