Don't want to test Mediatek Dimensity series, bro? smile.gif

I want that too... they re-branded to give positive impressions to the public (and tech enthusiasts...(?)). But, just watch YouTube will do so far... see whether this so-called "Diamond-City" is reliable or not... if the ISP can produce at par pix and vix during night-sight, then we have options to the "ultra-hyper-expensive" Snap865...

2,599 is still a bit high-priced for me. Can almost get a OP8 at that price already.

My hypothesis:

This year is the cheapest iPhone SRP we can get.

Starting next year, once Mr. Timmy "migrate" their manufacturing outside of China, the "25% increase" SRP will be borne by the end-user.

Thanks to Donald "J"oker Trump for starting the Trade War with China. All Apple products price will sky-rocket next year.

As for Android platforms, we have plethora of choices especially mid-range prices.

Mr. Timmy's community will suffer next year onwards. So much for the eco-system strategy...

Hence, the demand for second-hand units "will" increase back again next year. So better buy the iPhone SE now and enjoy high resale value in year 2021 onwards...

Wow! Still considered made it to your 10 SoT club rclxms.gif

So morale of the story, need to flash EU ROM for it to have better consumption?
*
Apparently, yes; becoz stock ROM is heavily having "nuisance activities" running in the background....

It's their strategy to get rid off the SoCs/inventory quickly... By creating many sub-brands & models, buyers are fooled to believe there are "many" choices in the market.

Plus, by pushing the new so-called "model", they can put the SRP higher than the previous model launched 3 months ago, despite of identical internal components.

Hence, the breakdown of 100% inventory is :
25% inventory goes to Mi branding...
10% inventory goes to Blackshark branding...
40% inventory goes to Redmi branding...
25% inventory goes to Poco branding...

Therefore,
If Redmi series (launched 3 months ago) have outstanding inventory, just transfer the inventory to Poco account and sell at new or higher price.

Brother, that means our Malaysia set ROM (is it global ROM?) is totally different from EU ROM?

Can you explain more further in details and the different between our Malaysia set ROM and EU ROM?

Are the Mi browser, Mi player and all Mi related apps not pre-installed in EU ROM?
*
(1) Malaysia Set is not having the EU ROM. Malaysia set comes with Global ROM.

(2) The difference as follows :

(3) EU ROM still keeping the following system apps:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

As the system apps are still present, I myself take my own initiative to further reduce some "background activities" by tweaking settings below:
(a) Enable Smart Scenes options.
(b) Disable access to Device ID.
© Disable Unrestricted Data for all System Apps.
(d) Disable Usage Access to all System Apps.
(e) Disable Authorization & Revocation for all System Apps.

All in all, the EU ROM has some effects to the background activities but not enough to prevent other nuisance. Therefore, user still need to tweak around further to minimize other background activities.

QUOTE(Khuan0813 @ May 22 2020, 08:35 AM)
That means the EU ROM is not a official ROM from Xiaomi?
The user needs to flash the ROM himself into the phone?
Thus no official warranty for the phone after flash it?

*
(1) EU (Europe) ROM is NOT official from Xiaomi; just like other custom ROMs in XDA community.

(2) Yes, the user needs to unlock the Bootloader (the official & legal method via Mi website) in order to be able to flash EU ROM.

(3) As highlighted below :
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

All in all, MIUI is well known for its rouge background activities since MIUI version 1. If the user can bare the "nuisance", no harm to proceed with the stock MIUI. It's how Xiaomi makes money and sustain the SRP to be "affordable" and reaching the "Flagship Killer" title.

Xiaomi awares users can flash stock ROM to other custom ROMs and loses the cash from the "background activities" in stock MIUI. There was a time they block the unlock Bootloader to prevent user flash custom ROMs. But backlash from their fans reverse that decision.

As for me, for the past 5 Xiaomi devices, I only flash EU ROM immediately once the ROM is released. No turning back and won't try other custom ROMs. You can nominate me as the No. 1 Fan for EU ROM...LOL...

Starting from MIUI 10, Poco's EU ROM is based on stable Chinese ROM. This is due to instability of weekly Chinese ROM tends to brick the device and common bootloop issue.

In terms of local Malaysia warranty, just flash back to global ROM before sending to the Service Center. No need to lock back the Bootloader. This is based on my experience for one of Xiaomi device having screen burning earlier.

Thanks for your professional explanation. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Do you use any trading apps in your Xiaomi device?
I have one. But after using for 2 week, the app will automatically sign off itself after I use it for 30 minutes, it shows session expired on the display there.

Do you have any idea how to solve this problem?
*
No trading apps in my F1 EU ROM.

You may try the following :
(1) Search for "System Apps" menu to disable their access to cellular Data.

(2) Disable Device ID access:

(3) Enable Smart Scenes:

(4) Disable all Authorization & Revocation :

All the above tweaking are to reserve the resources to your Trading Apps. Rather than the System Apps taking all the resources, tweaking above will free up some resources for your Trading app to continue running happily.

On top of that, do the followings:
(1) Set "No restrictions" to the Trading App

(2) Lock the Trading App so that it can constantly running in the Background

(3) Enable "Auto Start" to the Trading App

(4) Turn on "Unrestricted Data" to the Trading App

*
Me too. Not in a gazillion years I'm gonna cash out to their latest top of the line product series...

Why spend >RM3000 when we can get better deals from Sammy's or Mr. Timmy's last year flagship series...

I won't spend more than RM1500 for Xiaomi products. The latest one I bought was Xiaomi Enchen Boost for <RM50... LOL...

Not dual-SIM active, auto-disqualify... LOL...

But,...

Usage is almost 2 days, very good...

By "discounting" the Facebook (1 hour 13 minutes) and Instagram (46 minutes) apps, we can "allow" the 10 SoT Club enrollment... LOL...

Just ensure not to leave the battery level below 15%. Else, the cells will dry faster and shorter lifespan...

Mostly marketing strategy, creating illusion that consumer have lots of choice, as most consumer are not tech enthusiast like us lurking in forum  tongue.gif
Market are huge, thus creating more model just to fill up 'illusion of choices' should work. ie if 3 out of 5 choices are under your company albeit different name/model, you still wins as 60% chances  biggrin.gif

You walked in to store and presented with 5 choices within your budget and requirement, different model and brand, consumer will have the illusion that whatever they choose in the end ( or recommended by sales ) are best among five  laugh.gif

As for me, I can't accept MTK becoz GCam is not 100% compatible ... So, still relying on Snap series in the end, and especially the ones that Google Pixel 5 is rumored to use (Snap 765G or 768G)...
