I don't know about this external account. So i need to mark my local Bank Account as External account? If got excess, means the money automatically transfer there?

According to their email, yeah. I just assumed mine was but didn’t check so now my account / login is totally frozen. Only went to check the app as my card didn’t work earlier.

It’s happened in the past but I’d normally do a manual transfer out. Was sick this week so been in bed since Wednesday and didn’t really check my emails during that time sad.gif

No, external account. Like a Maybank account for example ..

Unless I’m missing something and JP Morgan offers domestic RM accounts to consumers

Balance can’t exceed RM20K … mine happened to be in EUR balance.

Hi, guys I'm planning to use my wise debit card for the first time in sg. I plan to just deposit money in RM to my account and use the debit card in SG.

Is there anything I need to be aware of? Is this the best practice to avoid high fees?

I’m probably not the best person to ask as my account got locked, so can’t even access the app now to check anyway.

Yes just that easy use debit card, do not withdraw from atm to avoid any possible cost.
Also if u can predict future, can also exchange sgd 1st at ur preferable rate, then the debit will deduct from sgd stored 1st.
Btw a lot ppl feedback wise wave got problem so just prepare to type ur pin when paying.

Alright .. I’ll try to call them see if that can speed things up. Worried that their email will take quite long to get answered

Been using Wise more than anything else this past year so it’s a real inconvenience if I don’t have access to it.

That's really weird that MRT didn't work for you when it did for me. May I know if you had SGD in your Wise account prior to entering the MRT? Or are you only holding MYR and doing on the fly conversion? In my case, I converted my MYR to SGD prior to tapping anywhere. Also, it did a "pre-auth" check (charged SGD 0) when I first tapped my card, then it only charges the amount on the next day. Attached are screenshots of my transactions. Note that I only used the MRT, and don't have experience for bus.

yes i hv sgd in wallet. SGD100

only when back in Msia i realise 2.80 was deducted so i ask and they refunded.
my fare on that particular trip at exit was sgd1+
so i hv no choice but to buy their transportation card again.

We’ve given you a refund for transaction #504728000.
An official chargeback investigation can take up to 2 months and we can’t guarantee a successful result. So we've decided to refund the money back to your account this time.
This means that we closed your dispute. Your money should be in your account and ready to use.
If you have any questions, please get in touch. We’re happy to help.

I rarely ever could get paywave to work on this card - chip / PIN only. There’s a particular place where my Wise card never works (GoBiz POS or something system shows as not supported)

Was quite surprised as it said for appeals it would take up to 20 working days .. but I guess this scenario is quite straight forward.

Transferred the extra out now so I'm within the rules smile.gif

Pretty much nothing, I sent this as a reply to their reminder email about deactivation :

“ I was under the impression that one of the existing external accounts added previously would have the additional funds withdrawn to automatically … rather than locking the account.”

That’s it!

I'm planning on getting a Wise card for online purchases since they have the Virtual Credit Card feature. Was wondering if there are any fees for topping up the card and also transferring the unused MYR back into your bank account?
