QUOTE(HumbleBF @ Dec 17 2022, 05:52 PM) Hi, guys I'm planning to use my wise debit card for the first time in sg. I plan to just deposit money in RM to my account and use the debit card in SG. Is there anything I need to be aware of? Is this the best practice to avoid high fees? sg developed country, wise card should works fine.. unless you buy stuff roadside etc... you may need some cash

QUOTE(Skylinestar @ Dec 26 2022, 10:31 PM) Is it possible to get the virtual card without getting the physical card? It seems I don't see the option for that? I could use my virtual card before arrival of physical cards. But that card can only be used for online shopping. Not when paying at restaurants etc

QUOTE(adam1190 @ May 25 2023, 08:24 PM) Does anyone know how much AUD can I transfer back to Malaysia per transaction? Thanks. Not more than rm10k as it will trigger bank to check your account. Not saying you're doing something wrong but you don't want any hassles from useless half baked bank officers to check your stuff

QUOTE(tadashi987 @ Aug 28 2023, 09:46 AM) I'll be flying to London this weekend. Does anyone know if the issue with the card still persists that contactless swiping still failing, requiring the use of a PIN always? Last year I went London almost all retails contact swipes fail, need to slot in the machine and use pin to make payment this topic too can I use wise card overseas without activating my pin number in my home country?

QUOTE(xander2k8 @ Aug 28 2023, 05:27 PM) Thanks. Tried to but didn't specify Myr You can send up to 975,000 MYR per transfer. We may ask for more documents if you send more than 200,000 MYR. Banks don't get alerted with such amount of money? Banks even auto trigger at 25k a day.

QUOTE(xander2k8 @ Aug 29 2023, 08:15 AM) Banks in Malaysia 🤦♀️ don’t need auto triggered because the networks in Malaysia are already owned by BNM and they can change the limit anytime as once transfer hit the limits it will flagged only then comes asking questions thanks for this. I was so bodoh, only transferred 10k a day when the exchange rate was high. so bodoh. thanks again.

QUOTE(kucingfight @ Sep 24 2023, 04:38 AM) Using it extensively for past 1week+ in Germany. I would say it is a big convenience, groceries , ticketing, parking etc. But contactless doesn't seem to be working, so physical pin is needed Also did wise pay in Japan past one week. It was so smooth. And it helps you with your expenses as well. Where and how much you've spent. Love it. Bigoay can close shop.

QUOTE(Steve78 @ Oct 1 2023, 12:13 AM) Mid Valley still provides the most favorable exchange rates if paper notes aren't an issue. Time wise and currency exchange rate, wise wins Ain't gonna go drive to MV takes 15 mins find parking. Walk all the way queue up then change money. Petrol. Time. Parking. Waiting time. All money

QUOTE(jonoave @ Oct 6 2023, 02:58 PM) Activation typically means payment by chip in a store, i.e. insert the card into a machine reader before the wave/tap feature can be activated. You can try with wave first, if failed then try by chip. Next time wave should work. QUOTE(bottomfrag @ Oct 6 2023, 10:00 PM) Yeah need to slot in for 1st transaction to activate. If you looked at the app before activation, Wave and ATM would be greyed out. I kena the other day, I told the cashier that I need to slot for chip n pin. He smart smart go wave and ended up with an invalid transaction. Had to do it again. Remember to select CREDIT. I chose all 3 and only got it right the last round 😅

QUOTE(Takudan @ Oct 12 2023, 10:50 PM) Ohh that's nice, thanks for correcting me! I'm curious to see how the transaction history looks like... Wonder if you can still find it? Cuz if there's currency conversion to complete the transaction, then you can see the full details in the transaction itself. yes, they will take whatever you have in that currency, and if it's not enough, then take from other currencies, usually your default currency and change according to the exchange rate thats why when you use wise to pay, it does take a while to process. but they can do all that in seconds, is very good to me

Hi wisers,
I tend to use those virtual debit card to do booking. For example agoda.
But when I use wise. It keeps declining. But if I use bigpay with no fund inside, the booking goes through.
Any idea how we can do booking using wise card and without putting fund in there first.

QUOTE(jimmy.soo @ Dec 12 2023, 12:30 AM) It will not be deducted straight away. Your Agoda booking should have an indication telling you when the payment will be charged to your card. So I need to have funds in wise to do those bookings first? Bigpay no fund also approve. Wise doesn't.

QUOTE(ericlaiys @ Dec 12 2023, 07:32 AM) if pay later, should be no deduct however, cc will be ideal as it guarantee to deduct when time come. no benefit use wise in here compare to cc. in case no show and your wise mo money, then hard to chase u. so it make sense that they dont accept debit card. some system dont allow I have never owned a cc and don't intend to. I'm sure I'll be in bankruptcy list if I have one. Thanks. Will have some funds in wise next time.
