I think Wise charge RM 1.06 for any transaction to local bank, that's what he meant maybe.

I was charged too.
*
Yes as it because they are wire transfer hence charges unlike local domiciled banks either using Rentas or FPX hence no charges

Not worth paying 0.1% for something which should be free locally 🤦‍♀️

Wise is smart by breaking down the charges which caters mostly to StrawGen 👏

Anyone getting this error message when trying to "upgrade" the Wise Business account to receive payments? My profile has been verified and currently dealing this issue with the support team.

I created Wise Business because I have clients who pay via Wise for my freelance work and Wise Business has no holding limit.

Update from support: Wise Business does not support multi-currency at this time

Yes that is correct, so I'm holding and thinking whether to try to withdraw cash to see whether it has charges

The debit card issuance is like RM 10 as well and I doubt I will make 10x transfer of Wise MYR account to local bank so I didn't bothered with it. laugh.gif laugh.gif

well the debit card is for ppl to use cashless method during oversea. If wise virtual card support Googlepay or Apple pay then can reduce the need for physical card ald

Actually can try at any ATM and see the charges to be imposed on screen, without having to actually withdraw... I don't have RM funds left in my Wise card, so I can't check for now.

I'm also curious if the banks will charge Visa network withdrawal fees, since the card isn't on MEPS. Even on MEPS the bank would charge RM1 unless it's their own bank card.

If local bank not exceeding rm1k no fee after that 1.75% fee hence it is actually Visa fees being subsidised by Wise

But if other currencies not in wallet hence conversion fee kicks in

When I withdrew overseas in the foreign country's ATM, e.g. withdrawing VND from my Wise VND account, at a Vietnam bank's ATM, Wise didn't charge any fees, but the bank itself charged a fee for using their ATM, which if I recall was quite high.

Is the charges prompted to you at the ATM or you just got a deduction in your Wise account without notification?

Wise doesn’t any charge any fee if it is local currencies in your wallet

Conversion fees only kicks in when you don’t have any currencies available that you want to withdraw 🤦‍♀️

For ATM best if you check the bank itself before withdrawing it as they should prompt on withdrawal before you are able to withdraw it

My Wise card got contactless payment (paywave) issue when I'm onboard oversea and also in Malaysia, anyone encountered this problem? (CHIP & PIN Payment work very well for me), I have email Wise Support, however, I still can't solve the issue.

I have tried:
1. On and off contactless payment button at Wise App.
2. Change contactless payment limit from default to Maximum.

Anything I should try before I proceed to replace the card as suggested by Wise Support? as I do not want to get a brand new card that does not work again.

It's like a Universal problem. I can see like 9 out of 10 people have issues with it here. New card or old card all the same. Just use PIN when overseas.

Thanks, then I shall not go for the "replacing card" solution.

I have no issue with PIN payment, but when it comes to certain payment terminal that does not have place for you to slot in card and no PIN keypad, i.e. Bus, Train & parking terminal (Oversea), then it defeat the purpose of me having a Wise card already, if I have to take out my credit card just to tap it.

Duduk Train kat Malaysia bolehlah guna TnG card, tapi kat oversea, tak nak la beli mereka punya card la (i.e. London Oyster card).

I think if travelling for extended period better buy foreign country pass card or their version of TNG. I am going to Japan in March, definitely need to get their cards for trains there.
