I only opened my TW a few weeks ago and using the account to deposit GBP, works fine ... no issues. Guess I was just in time!

Been using WISE for a while but went over the 20k limit … I assumed they would auto transfer to my local account (which I guess wasn’t marked as external) so my account and the funds have now been locked …

Any ideas how long it takes them to resolve it when this happens?

They emailed asking to transfer out the excess money but missed seeing the email until too late and they froze the account and disabled login
Thanks. Will try

Looks like same issue as me … how long did it take you to get it resolved? 😬

I don't know about this external account. So i need to mark my local Bank Account as External account? If got excess, means the money automatically transfer there?
*
According to their email, yeah. I just assumed mine was but didn’t check so now my account / login is totally frozen. Only went to check the app as my card didn’t work earlier.

It’s happened in the past but I’d normally do a manual transfer out. Was sick this week so been in bed since Wednesday and didn’t really check my emails during that time sad.gif

Eh, i checked mine.

Account->Malaysian Ringgit-> it is the JP Morgan account....is consider the external account? Means money will be stored here if excess 20k?
*
No, external account. Like a Maybank account for example ..

Unless I’m missing something and JP Morgan offers domestic RM accounts to consumers

Balance can’t exceed RM20K … mine happened to be in EUR balance.

How to setup this?
*
I’m probably not the best person to ask as my account got locked, so can’t even access the app now to check anyway.

Been quite busy so I have just emailed their appeals address yesterday night, still waiting for reply
*
Alright .. I’ll try to call them see if that can speed things up. Worried that their email will take quite long to get answered

Been using Wise more than anything else this past year so it’s a real inconvenience if I don’t have access to it.

if u are Msian then u need activate your card first in Msia for first time if not mistaken.

i convert to sgd first. however tried wave but decline. Pin is no problem.
*
I rarely ever could get paywave to work on this card - chip / PIN only. There’s a particular place where my Wise card never works (GoBiz POS or something system shows as not supported)

Mine still no answer yet

Was quite surprised as it said for appeals it would take up to 20 working days .. but I guess this scenario is quite straight forward.

Transferred the extra out now so I'm within the rules smile.gif

What details did you include in the email u sent to them?
*
Pretty much nothing, I sent this as a reply to their reminder email about deactivation :

“ I was under the impression that one of the existing external accounts added previously would have the additional funds withdrawn to automatically … rather than locking the account.”

That’s it!

What email address is the reminder email coming from? Because on mine it said that email cannot be replied to (noreply @transferwise), and the refund email address that they give, they didnt reply back to my email.

The contact phone number last time someone gave in this thread also unreachable
*
I replied to the email but used appeals@ address, not the noreply one. That was on Saturday 17 Dec, and I received a reply and had account unlocked on 19 Dec.
