QUOTE(tropik @ Dec 9 2022, 09:48 PM) Just gotten my card yesterday. contactless cannot use in Msia or Singapore too. tested. From the few recent posts I read, we dont really have to convert some amount into say, Baht, before we start spending in Thailand? The MYR that is in the account, will be deducted once we transact, assuming there's no other currencies in the account? If I have both MYR and Baht, spending in Thailand will automatically deduct from Baht account first? If I have 3 currencies, say MYR, Baht and USD, while shopping, my Baht runs to zero, the extra amount to be deducted or the next transaction will be deducted from MYR? It won't simply deduct from any funded currency account right? My partner isn't able to use the contactless function to pay in Bangkok, despite the feature being enabled in the app. Is that the norm for Thailand? need use pin |

QUOTE(BetterCallSaul @ Dec 10 2022, 03:36 PM) For me it works both in Malaysia and Singapore thru contactless. In MY I've used it in convenience stores such as FamilyMart, MyNews and in SG I used it on the MRT, restaurants, supermarkets and convenience store, all works well. what setting you do that i did wrong?Singapore.. if cannot wave.. cashier will get angry with me. |

QUOTE(BetterCallSaul @ Dec 13 2022, 06:06 PM) Everything is on it's default setting. One thing you can try is to change the spending limit to maximum under Manage > Account Limits > Contactless (this flow is for iOS) and maybe that might trigger the system to allow contactless. It's also worth noting my card is new, I am new to Wise and received my card in November. If all else fails, maybe can try contacting their support team and tell them that the contactless on the card is faulty. ok thanks i try. My card is also new...![]() ![]() Here are a couple of screenshots to show my payment success via contactless in MY and SG. Was in Singapore over the weekend.. tried 2 places small amount after wave cannot.t he cashier hv to press again for pin |

QUOTE(BetterCallSaul @ Dec 17 2022, 01:41 PM) So I did some testing with the contactless, and if my assumption is right, it might be down to the actual card terminal (or bank acceptance?). I tried at 2 places recently, one at KK Supermart and another one in the same FamilyMart as my previous post. KK was using a Public Bank terminal which looks like this. for Malaysia - i tried at Macdonalds and Guardian.![]() While FamilyMart's terminal is like this (machine with keypad, issued by Maybank). ![]() I have not tried at any other places, or ones with more modern terminals (touch screen and e-wallet compatible). When I tried at KK, contactless did indeed fail, however at FamilyMart it was a success. Do you guys recall which banks terminal you interfaced with when making payment? For curiosity sake. i will continue try at other outlet. this time i will take a photo of the terminal. Singapore tried to wave 3 times.. cannot. Waive at entry point of MRT can.. but cannot exit. then the counter just charge the fare ask me pay cash. Then she say so many foreigner try WISE can enter cannot exit. I told her its because before i use it at entry.. the ticketing office check and say can be used. This post has been edited by elea88: Dec 17 2022, 02:41 PM CommodoreAmiga liked this post

QUOTE(CommodoreAmiga @ Dec 17 2022, 02:06 PM) Hmm...but shouldnt WAVE be standard? I use SamsungPAY and never have a single problem. I will try use it the next few days. u link the wise to samsung pay? Whole idea of using this wise is overseas spending. use in Msia is just testing purpose only. i will try samsung pay with WISE in Singapore next time i go. |

QUOTE(BetterCallSaul @ Dec 17 2022, 04:43 PM) That's really weird that MRT didn't work for you when it did for me. May I know if you had SGD in your Wise account prior to entering the MRT? Or are you only holding MYR and doing on the fly conversion? In my case, I converted my MYR to SGD prior to tapping anywhere. Also, it did a "pre-auth" check (charged SGD 0) when I first tapped my card, then it only charges the amount on the next day. Attached are screenshots of my transactions. Note that I only used the MRT, and don't have experience for bus. ![]() ![]() yes i hv sgd in wallet. SGD100 only when back in Msia i realise 2.80 was deducted so i ask and they refunded. my fare on that particular trip at exit was sgd1+ so i hv no choice but to buy their transportation card again. We’ve given you a refund for transaction #504728000. An official chargeback investigation can take up to 2 months and we can’t guarantee a successful result. So we've decided to refund the money back to your account this time. This means that we closed your dispute. Your money should be in your account and ready to use. If you have any questions, please get in touch. We’re happy to help. This post has been edited by elea88: Dec 18 2022, 05:16 AM |

QUOTE(HumbleBF @ Dec 17 2022, 05:52 PM) Hi, guys I'm planning to use my wise debit card for the first time in sg. I plan to just deposit money in RM to my account and use the debit card in SG. if u are Msian then u need activate your card first in Msia for first time if not mistaken. Is there anything I need to be aware of? Is this the best practice to avoid high fees? i convert to sgd first. however tried wave but decline. Pin is no problem. |

QUOTE(xander2k8 @ Jun 6 2023, 04:18 PM) What is the error message? 🤦♀️ if it is incompatible it might the device is not supported or Wise for Samsung Pay is not available yet in the country you try to pay i got answer from wise:Thanks for getting in touch, and sorry about the trouble you're having here. Unfortunately, we do not support Samsung Pay in Malaysia - at the moment. |

QUOTE(moonsatelite @ Jun 7 2023, 03:07 PM) Just sharing, i created a virtual card on Wise by changing the region to the UK and added it to Apple Pay, used the virtual card to pay in Malaysia, Sweden and Finland at 100% success rate. hmm i check my region is locked to Msia.. cannot change.!!!But i heard that is not a favorable workaround. |

QUOTE(Takudan @ Jun 23 2023, 11:40 PM) Answered above 💯 like I said previously, I'm gambling that Yen will strengthen, hence the jar... The amount I kept there likely won't fund my whole Japan trip so I can be flexible to figure out how I want to get the rest later. Here are a few ways I can think of: for Netherlands can use WISE but key in pin right?- online purchase: in my previous trips, I went to Japanese websites to transact some tickets and stuff in Yen. - cashless payments: it works just like your credit cards (MasterCard or Visa), so any merchant accepting those will be ok with Wise. Paywave is a hit or miss though..., it didn't work for me in the Netherlands, worked in Singapore, don't know about Japan. - withdraw ATM, as you said: but I feel more comfortable prepping cash from Malaysia before touching down in Japan, so I probably won't use this feature... But if I do run low on yen in all my (e-)wallets, I can always reload Yen in either Wise or Bigpay. |
