Just got my Q6600 up and running, cooled by an Ultra 120 Extreme and a low cfm Delta fan. At 2.6Ghz full load, Core temp shows 84c/83c/78c/79c for the 4 cores while Easy Tune shows 61c

QUOTE(arj @ Aug 5 2007, 08:38 PM) Weird. Then it's correct (B3 has a tjunction of 100'c). By right core temp should be indicating the correct temperature.Have you tried Intel's TAT (thermal analysis tool) It's supposed to be other apps that reads the temperature wrongly. See this : http://www.boogleoogle.co.uk/category/hardware/ You sure your HSF is seated properly? We need a quad expert here!!!! |

I'm at 2.8Gghz right now, highest coretemp is 90c while eazy tune shows 70c. I've reinstalled the heatsink already. The weird thing is that when I touched the lower part of the heatsink while under full load, it's not even warm!

Thats quite hot @ 2.6GHz and cannot blame 100% on B3 stepping maybe air ventilation not so good.

QUOTE(kevyeoh @ Aug 5 2007, 11:26 PM) I've tried reinstalling it already, the outline on the base of the heatsink shows that there's proper contact. I'm currently using the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme, turned the screws all the way down already. Will do it again tomorrow. Might also try using the stock heatsink for comparison. |
