At stock speed the E6850 has an edge in gaming but when overclocking comes into play I believe the difference is negligeable and barely noticeable. Check out my results, I'm using Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme with a low noise Thermaltake fan thumbup.gif

I'm using P35. When one of the cores fail in Prime95, the icon will turn red.

ahh ic, so basically, p35 more suit when paired with quaddies rather than p965(what im using)

p965 can support nicely when running on default & mild setup, but when it comes to higher clocks, it becomes unstable no matter what setting applied

hurmm hmm.gif am i going to get p35 boards?? sweat.gif sweat.gif

about the prime95, so it doesnt have a "beep" sound ait?? in that case, have to turn on my display at least 8hrs to monitor the overclocking progress cry.gif

Is there a reason why you choose 70'c as the highest core temp?

I know the Q6600 has a better thermal profile but AFAIK, most people would recommend a max temp of 60'c for the C2D. hmm.gif

For me 70c is a number that I'm comfortable with running 24/7. Have done that with my previous processors as well. Running it at such high temp might reduce its lifespan but nowadays the processor will get obsolete first before dying laugh.gif

OIC. You mean that your previous C2D was also running at 70'c??

I'm already sweat.gif when my proc is running at 60'C!!! rclxub.gif

I guess I can push my proc further as previous E6x00 had a thermal specification of 62'c whereas the new E6x50 has a higher level at 71'c! rclxm9.gif

This is my first Intel processor in years. My previous processor was an AMD Opteron 165.
