Redeemed my krisflyer points for myself and my wife as our "honeymoon" trip for SQ.
Flying to Narita on 16 November until 30 November 2022 (Haneda all fully redeemed, sigh...)
I'm arriving 730am JPT 17 November in Narita, I have 13 days to go around.

Need sifus to help me on:
1. mySOS / Fast Track (for vaccination cert) and also Japan Web (for immigration/customs clearance), these need to be filled when? 1 week before travelling?
2. My wife wants to stay as long as possible in Tokyo to shop however I would want some detour out of Tokyo since we are having so many days in Tokyo.
- I'm thinking of going to see Mt Fuji, is a day trip enough? Thinking going to Hakone or Kawaguchiko just to see Mt Fuji and walkaround only, dont really have any other particular place. JR Tokyo Wide Pass is sufficient to cover?
- I'm thinking of going to Gundam Factory in Yokohama, probably another day trip.
- Wife wants to do strawberry picking but saw from internet, its not the right season. Unsure how to do this haha.
- Trying to formula a list what to do in Tokyo. She just gave a bunch of names like Shibuya, Ginza, Asakusa etc but unsure what to see there.
- We both been to Kyoto and Osaka before, so not too keen to go again.

QUOTE(sadukarzz @ Oct 10 2022, 11:23 PM)
Yeah, I gave some thought about it and decided to forgo Nagoya / Osaka for now. I'll return again for these 2 especially after the expansion of the theme parks.

Kyoto though, I think I'd really want to spend some time there to just soak in the environment before the tourism returns.

Based on what I can find, Kyoto on pre-covid season, was a nightmare in terms of foot traffic.

So I have revised my plans as per below:

Considerations -
1. Pre-winter, so timing is not too cold yet (hopefully, climate change is a little more merciful).
2. I will be travelling mostly with train (I plan to take the 7 day JR Pass).
3. I will also be flying to/from Haneda.
4. I would like to go for hotsprings / theme parks (major ones, of course).
5. Food. I think I will be spending alot on those.
6. Shopping for clothes if applicable, I plan to travel with adequate clothing so I can buy some.

Cities/areas I plan to visit:
1. Tokyo (5 nights)
2. Mt.Fuji / Hakone region (2-3 nights)
3. Kyoto (2-3 nights)

I think this would be more reasonable compared to my previous plans which includes Osaka & Nagoya.

What do you guys think?

=================================================

Details:

Dates - 30Nov22 - 11Dec22
Flight - MH (HND>KUL) points; PAL (KUL>MNL>HND) RM1800, 2 pax
Hotels - Yet to be booked
Pass - JR Pass 7 days + Suica

1. Once you got Flight no. + accommodation address
2. Hakone will be good enough. Just get Hakone Free Pass at Odakyu office inside Shinjuku Station. If weather are clear, you can spot Mt Fuji inside Hakone cable Car.
3. Tokyo to Yokohama about 20 minute only, make sure you hop on ''Rapid'' type Shonan–Shinjuku Line. Save you 5-7 minute travel time.
3. Forget about strawberry farm, because not in season. If die die want to eat Japan best starwberry & jam then can head to Karuizawa by Shinkansen (JR East Wide Pass)

But you gain early excess to Tokyo Haneda. ANA currently only carrier fly from SEA reach Haneda at 6pm. This period of time, entire international terminal are all yours. That is the power of spend extra to gain privileged.

Shibuya i think a lot of new places open... you might want to watch a few youtube videos and see the new places. I recommend Shibuya Sky Scramble Square when the weather is nice. I think you might be in time for yellow gingko leaves. I went to Jingu Gaien Ginkgo Avenue. The prediction should be around the last week of November.

Ginza is for shopping premium brands. I do recommend Bills Ginza for their ricotta pancakes though or if you want to try Omakase, i recommend go Kyubey when they open to put down your name. Then go shopping and come back at whatever time they tell you.

Asakusa ... not sure if I did anything there other than the Sensoji and the shoplots leading to Sensoji. A lot of tourists including Japanese.

2 nights in Mt Fuji should be enough. If you have enough budget, you can try search Kukuna or any hotels around Lake Kawaguchiko. Check if the rooms have a Mt Fuji view.

If your hotel doesn't have a Mt Fuji view or onsen. Can try these 2 places. They both have a Mt Fuji view are these 2. I forgot how much but should be around 1000 yen or cheaper.

Fuji Yurari Hot Spring (newer and larger with more pools outdoor, it's abit far, I rented a car and drove around so it was easy for me.)
Yamanakako Onsen Benifuji no Yu hot spring

Yamanakako Onsen is the one I went, reasonable price. nice place to experience 'culture shock' brows.gif brows.gif

haha ... When in Rome, do as the Romans do

I went to the one in Odaiba for my first time though. There were more foreigners. Too many people to actually relax. A lot of times you will see the local milk sold in glass bottle in a vending machine when you come out of the onsen in public area. That one is a must after onsen. thumbup.gif
