Hi all,

what would be the best area to stay for easy connectivity, had to travel to tokyo big sight for 3 days to attend an expo.

also, will it better to travel directly to Haneda airport as it closer to city centre? as Narita is far away? Yes i can get direct flight to both from where i flying,

October time. thank you smile.gif

I entered Japan 11oct morning 7am,
Please must fill up your mysos, (make sure your phone has connections, they will ask you connect the wifi if you don't)

once they check it, you will get a blue paper which u show to the custom officer,

whole process less than 10mins.

many ppl got jammed without mysos or using papers..

Hi, need suggestion to help plan my trip

I'm planning a trip with arrival and departure times from Narita Airport as follows:

June 28, 7 am: Arrival
July 2, 11 am: Departure
December 15, 7 am: Arrival
December 19, 11 am: Departure

Wondering if it's feasible to tour regions outside of Tokyo, specifically Hokkaido or Osaka on one of the trip or I should be concerned about potential weather-related service interruptions if heading to Hokkaido in December? - or perhaps I should just spend those time in Tokyo

Also, interested in understanding the current state of over tourism in Japan. Wondering if public transportation, like trains, is typically overcrowded.

I'm seeking advice on accommodation for 3 adults and 1 child. We've already booked with Karaksa Hotel Colours Tokyo, which is about 600 meters away from Tokyo Station. Although it's a bit pricey, our main goal is to ensure we catch the Narita Express (NEX) by 7 am at Tokyo Station (from earlier research other station might not have access to NEX prior that and trasitting with luggage can be challenging), as our flight departs at 11 am. However, since we may have multiple luggage pieces, navigating might still be challenging. We're considering airport transport services (book via klook) for both directions but are unsure about the reliability and potential charges if we exceed the free waiting time due to customs delays or which might be a better option to stay at if we were to opt with airport transport

Thanks

Hi..I can comment on the KLOOK airport transfer part.
I have used KLOOK to book 4 times narita to city, every time driver is on time.
he/she will whatsapp you a day before to confirm your schedule too..

price wise i think is very justifiable, considering travelling with kids + luggage, and door to door.

Hi guys, need some pro tips. I’m travelling as a family of 4 with 2 young kids under 3.

Looking at airport transfer from Narita to Tokyo city, are there any good affordable options to consider as it’s a 1 hour journey?

Here are my thoughts:
1. Easiest is rent a private limo/ride. Most convenient and straight to Airbnb, but costly. Checked klook it’s RM470 one way.

2. Take train as a family of 4 but 2x big luggage will use luggage forwarder. However I found Yamato service a bit expensive, total costs RM280 for 2x big luggage one way (28 inch luggage). And cons is the luggage will only arrive a day later.

3. Are there similar ehailing services like grab? Would those be cheaper?

Don’t think I can brace carrying 2x 28 inch luggage, each 30kg while also taking care of 2 kids and 1 wife throughout the 1 hour train ride to Tokyo city.

Appreciate your advice on what’s the most affordable way U would choose. (Let me know if I calculate this wrongly)
*
you really should opt for private transfer, 470 one way is not expensive from narita to tokyo city, considering the kids and bags too. wont you want to relax also after 6-7 hours flight from KL as well? i suppose you will bring stroller too?

choose the alphards range..I booked mine last time via klook approx rm500.

One thing I noticed (correct me if I'm wrong), those services offered in Klook are legal? Typical taxi ride Narita to town could set you back RM1K, any lesser is rather strange.  These providers are called "White taxis" in Japan, means they are potentially illegal transportation providers in the eyes of Japanese law.
*
You are right, thats why pre-booking helped "reduce" the cost.
I used their service 3 times so far. Nth negative, on time both drop to airport and pickup from airport.

Klook is only a platform for those vendors, but i doubt KLOOK will endorse nor promote any illegal operator in their bucket.
Albeit I cannot tell if is illegal in terms of local law or not but they are registered companies.

It's the members contributions here to made aware of all these ground information so that travellers make the decisions at their own risk.
Just bear in mind just because they are running a registered company, doesn't mean they will not potentially run foul of the law.
