I plan to go Japan in November as a first timer.

Prefer a baby friendly place.

Should I cover kansai (Osaka/Kyoto/Nabe/Kobe)

Or start off with Tokyo first?

No disneyland

Kyoto and Nara are suitable.
Tokyo and Osaka are big city and metro are super pack, rush hour are deadly level. Walking pace on this 2 city are fast, shoulder bump and pushing are very general. Not really baby friendly city. Plus alot Tokyo and Osaka train station no elevator. Don't expect baby stroll in this 2 city.

Tokyo walking pace are super fast, baby stroller are big no no. You will get scold for blocking the way.

Flights in general gone up 50% - 100%

Gone are the days where japan return tickets can get less than RM700 return

You see airasia also not cheap anymore

Inflation mang, also recession inkambing

it's not gone
flight hasn't return to normal yet

in order to return back to normal, all the pre-covid flight has to return 1st
thn went through the boom and slow down
thn price will come back to pre-covid or near it
every country that opens up has to gone through this phase

This is for Immigration and Customs clearance. You will be given two QR codes after you finished filling up the online form.

I took a snapshot and keep it for use when arrive at Kansai airport.

btw, i'm like having difficulty deciding on which area to stay in osaka.

any personal preference for peeps here? so i feel there's no severe disadvantage in most places. just a matter of preference.

like if stay north shin osaka, ppl who like to do day trip (but i'm only doing one which is to himeji, obviously not doing day trip to kyoto)

the kita ward or near osaka station, more central/CBD

the minami area (every blog i google) seems central, happening, eating place...

another consideration is i'm arriving at KIX at 9pm on SQ, just dont want to make it too difficult on my 1st day to get to my first lodging but good hotels near the stations again, seems plentiful.

Last time I stayed at shin imamiya, budget-friendly area, steps away from nankai line and metro, near to everything

The hotel I wouldn't recommend though

mySOS is supposedly for vaccination cert meanwhile Visit Japan Web is for Immigration and customs.
However when u go over to mySOS or FAST TRACK website, it says:
QUOTE
If your arrival date is on and after November 14th,
please use Visit Japan Web (available from November 1st).

https://www.digital.go.jp/en/services/visit_japan_web-en/

And I'm arriving on 17 November. Means dont need to submit vaccination cert?

Looks like they are scrapping MySoS App requirement and use Visit Japan Web instead

Refer to here and a pop up. https://www.hco.mhlw.go.jp/en/
