another feature missing on the e8400 vs e6850
the enchanced halt state is not as advance.
at idle the e6850 is cooler.

hmmm initially thought of not posting but what the heck
oh yeah this was using dumb cooler and a cheap ram. Proc:E8400 Q746A332@ 3.6ghz 1.15v Mobo: Asus Maximus Formula SE Ram: OCZ Gamer Gold XTC - PC2-6400 CL5 @ 2.1v [attachmentid=374884] if this is not a good batch then i have no idea what is.. so far as i can tell this are the voltages for this batch Stock voltage = 1.09 400x8.5=3.4@1.1v (i think u can say stock voltage.. i couldnt do less 0.01v on the maximus) 400x9.0=3.6ghz@1.15v Settings for the rest of the voltages : Lowest value. cant attempt 4ghz yet till i have my sweet rams return back from rma.. QUOTE(cstkl1 @ Jan 8 2008, 07:56 PM) another feature missing on the e8400 vs e6850 Hmmm... My E8400 idle temp is lower than all my previous Intel processor (E6850, E66, x68 and so on). I thought they have implemented those latest power saving stuff, something called CIA2. No?the enchanced halt state is not as advance. at idle the e6850 is cooler. Oh ya.. you using stock cooler? QUOTE(a1098113 @ Jan 8 2008, 08:42 PM) so i guess id sell my conroe and go for the wolfsdale instead. hmm, thanks irangan bro and cstkl1:) hehe. U better use your current processor unless you into benching cuz you will find much difference for the upgrade.Hmm so this DFI board, anyone here got any experience with the X38s? coz my eyes are on either the EVGA or Asus If u are using DDR2, DFI LP x38 is one of the best in the market for OC. But if DDR3, go for Maximus Extreme or P5E3 Deluxe. QUOTE(cstkl1 @ Jan 8 2008, 09:02 PM) hmmm initially thought of not posting but what the heck Not bad result.. Awaiting for your 4ghz daily run. Currently I can run my 4ghz stable at 1.35vcore (during full load is 1.33). Again, cant exceed 4.2ghz due to my board QUOTE(a1098113 @ Jan 8 2008, 09:49 PM) damn thats a damn low voltage lolol. QUOTE(kmarc @ Jan 9 2008, 06:57 AM) Using watercooling. Never take out / use my stock cooler to preserve the resell value.Oh ya... I cant detect the temp using 0.96 Coretemp or my Everest 4.2 Ultimate. Its temp reading will just stuck at 46/25 and remains the same even during full load. So using gigabyte software for the temp reading. Probably not that accurate. This post has been edited by irangan: Jan 9 2008, 09:36 AM |
