Newer TM OLT doesn't use/have downstream encryption, when I force AES, I got this error message:

You can verify this via D-Link DPN-FX3060V or D-Link DPN-100

this is interesting... should have a way to sniff neighborhood internet downstream traffic

someone in the comments section said he had to go with 4x1g pcie max with this as there was insufficient cooling for a 4x10g card

QUOTE
I tried with 4X10gbe card, the lan card required active cooling.

Anime4000 I know you switch from Maxis back to Unifi 2Gbps. Now that maxis offer true 2Gbps package, you think more worth it than Unifi's?

As long as the wholesale network in your area is still under TM's old HSBB then it's still lousy.

By the way TM still using the blue colored not the green one?

It's DEFINITELY NOT ready for WDM and multi wavelength support which allow GPON, 10GSPON and WDM PON to run on its network yet. Not unlike TIME and ALLO they already supplied APC connectors from day 1.

one thing I hate about Maxis:
1. RM10 for Public IP Address
2. 14 days Public IP Address lease
3. International route not good as TM matured/large peering

My router connected to my Friend at Osaka, Japan, on Maxis, latency is ~110 to ~200ms,

more noticeable when my little sister keep complaining the Genshin Impact lagging.
During my Maxis time, I had to route the Alibaba Japan (Genshin Impact) server to my friend RB5009 hezaika TIME
user posted image

even being routed to TIME, ping still above 100ms,
now on TM peering, ping is 80ms

about #2, 14 days Public IP Address lease is stupid! every time I play game, it will disconnect!
also, DDNS crontab have delay, cloudflare DDNS only allow check every 10 minute, that huge downtime for hosted server

Yes, any ISP under TM fiber, TM has power to set other ISP low performance, TM has right on this.

in PON hacking group, there are UPC being used on XGSPON ONT, I try ask them if that multi-wavelength.
I remember that UPC and APC not related to WDM/Multi-wavelength (50/25/X/G PON)

QUOTE
low back reflection is important, their use is not strictly tied to WDM or multi-wavelength systems

In other note:
there one guy asking for help his Maxis 2Gbps can't reach at least 1800Mbps,
speed he got is just 1112/500 speed, same issue GPON with 2.5G Ethernet, same issue as I using GPON Stick

GPON + 2.5G is bad combination if ONT didn't account this:
user posted image
^^^ This is what TM held back, give crappy half-done 2.5G ONT to other ISP (Maxis) and done with it

My GPON ONU SFP fix the issue, so, no problem icon_idea.gif

Point 2 is bad. I didn't know Maxis does this. How did you figure it out?

Not a big issue tbh. There are a lot of cloudflare ddns scripts on GitHub either as docker containers or baremetal where you can adjust the update interval.

I might hit you up soon regarding your service once my contract ends at the end of this month.

Thanks for your work.

I figured it out as 14th day as first time using Maxis, I thoughts not a problem. As my HomeLab grow, it's very serious problem...

I even tried to email Maxis and SKMM of this regards

interruption every 14 days just as bad.

SKMM told me they can't help, Maxis didn't have large IP Address pool like TM where user can stay same IP indefinitely until user intervention/router reboot

see, TM bought P1 WiMAX including all the IPv4 Address

not to mention, IPv6 lease also every 3 days.

so, having 2Gbps Maxis with 14 days lease is very bad, you won't know when disconnect,

also TM priority it's Unifi 2Gbps first. I have checked that Unifi Ultra didn't have Pbits traffic shaping meanwhile Maxis on TM have predefined Pbits traffic shaping with wide gaps in between, Maxis likely get high ping when Unifi Ultra in use same PON network.

Maxis 2Gbps better off on Maxis own infra

LTE Maxis 32ping unfi 12ping but most of my headshot on LTE maxis is register not in unfi.

Will move to Maxis fiber end of this month.

There's a reason why Allo, TIME and the other newer ISPs choose APC over UPC. Even developed countries such as Singapore, Europe and US prefer APC over UPC.

The tilted angle as mentioned provides better return reflectance than the flat UPC when you have multi wavelength signals or WDM being transmitted in the single core fibre.

user posted image

In the long run when you turn on multiple wavelengths for current uPON + XG-PON + XGS-PON simultaneously the subscribers will start to see the effect with UPC/PC type connectors(BLUE).

if such prioritisation is the case, i should be having a total domination over the bandwidth of my exchange.
yet only manage a paltry download and upload.

inb4 not realising @oltromen is no longer the only prioritised ultra subscriber in the same exchange

same ping to TM Klang...

that server having nice route with maxis indeed

if didn't effect speed, I think TM keep using it

What OLT are you under?
Mine here I run 2Gbps 24 hours between VPS, avg is 1910Mbps download, max is 2111Mbps

TM enforced DSCP P-Bits on Maxis, this taken from Skyworth ONT (OLT: 0x414c434c)
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

User from Bahau, complained his Maxis didn't reach expected bandwidth.
Tried his neighborhood Unifi (non 2Gbps) no P-bits present...

I didn't open the Skyworth internal, diag says EcoNet EN75 series... I not sure unless own the ONT

So any easy way to find out this P-bits thing? I'm not savvy about all this technical stuff you mentioned.

Hi Sifu, is HiSGMII compatible with 2500Base-X? Currently testing on BCM57810S (Bell Bypass with 2500) and stick doesn’t want to establish a link.

And I have my LAN_SDS_MODE set to 4 according to the manual on GH. Would TM be able to work with LAN_SDS_MODE 6?
