if you using 1Gbps, you can have 1.3 or 1.5Gbps or more when using GPON SFP with HiSGMII
lwk523 have done that, first in Malaysia having over 1Gbps internet speed at home

GPON ONU SFP has own SoC CPU, it just like miniature ONU with SFP Interface.

using SFP skip all Ethernet stuff, router just do router thing, GPON ONU SFP just manage fiber like ONU do

TM keep changing the routing causing the connectivity cant maintain on a high and stable quality connection.
So sometime you get stable connection with good routing,but sometime the connection is bad due to routing changed or congestion.

And so far TM to Local national network connection is improved,so it is better than past 1-2 years. (Now Almost 97% stable, but still got some time will having crap connection)
But TM to worldwide network like SG or others region network still crap,everyday get different connection stability.

many of my customer in range -14dBm to -8dBm of RX produce very hot, the PON Laser absorb the heat also share same heatsink body with SoC

the PON Stick can stand up to 90 degreeC,

I been using since 2020 and never put any heatsink.

The only thing heating up in a GPON stick is the laser module, and as Anime4000 here stated, if your laser from ISP isn’t overpowering it’s fine. It’s just a bridge for laser signal, there isn’t anything “affecting” the heat on the stick. It’s not a router running services like DHCP, PPPoE dial up or any other normal router would be doing

I run my stick in a 2U server chassis with no extra cooling at the back, my entire household usage per month pertains to about 2TB down 1TB up. The PON stick stays at 34-35 deg, no extra heat/performance dips.
