Don't worry, it will not void your warranty

For me, XP is much faster than Vista. Initially I have some problem with XP drivers, but now all solved and is working beautifully (check post 1)

Yes, I think should be possible cause Dell itself supports it

Not sure if you want to claim warranty from Dell, you may have to restore the OS to whatever it came with. Let's say if it came with Vista, you need to restore Vista back. This happened to HP/Compaq laptops. A disclaimer and reminder by HP CS.

As long as you gather all the requirement and knew all the step , it'd be easy.As my opinion , if you are newbie ,it's better to wait until all the correct driver avaliable for Dell 1520 only you start installing.Vostro 1500 would be the same too.

I've asked them before. It is not necessary

well, just got my blue 1520 and play on it. so far so good la. just the hard disk clickin sound, light leakage on below and a slight leak at the top of the screen. Love the speakers, at least sound quality better than before ones. (my sis using 630m) overall, loving it thumbup.gif

Hardly see it with bare eyes, you have to feel it with your finger. Just gently stroke the panel with your finger from left or right with a moderate speed, you can feel it yourself IF it exists.

Yup i heard riva tuner doesn't give correct memory details for laptop GPUs as well.

And hao, do you mean when you press the laptop at that area, there's an area that doesn't flex while the rest of the area around it flexes?
