Buy a Dell,
Loving it well,

Day yell?
Night yell?
Use direct connect from dell,

What Dell sells,
Is product that helps,
Hit dropped fell,
Get replacement from Dell.

Delayed like hell?
It's good to be real,
Oh well,
Dell is in good sell,

Insulting Dell,
Why not go for something like Elle?
Providing you have the fortune of wealth,

Dell oh Dell,
provide extra cell,
good performance as well,
Michael Dell,
You make my heart melt...

one thing i want you guys to know. When my 1520 arrived, it has some problem with the webcam driver. i use dell direct, they couldnt solve it, then they made a meet up with me. ok, thats the next day...know what? 3 technicians came to my house, repair for that. but i was told the webcam hardware problem. It's ok, the webcam won trouble me much. The machine is still cool. The next thing is, dell called up, saying there will be replacement unit for me! 2 days after, they sent a new one for me. all new, including the targus bag i ordered and everything included. I got the chance to own 2 inspiron 1520 for one week before they took it back. I guess im lucky.

Ok, Bluetooth is now working smile.gif

I've updated Post #284 (Page 15) - Drivers for Windows XP

Now the only driver missing is 'Modem Device on High Definition Audio Bus'
*
Do you wanna install the modem driver? if so, u have to update the PCI bus before installing modem driver..this is how it works...

Open a blank notepad , maximize it.If you see the white isn't white more like grey and dots which means you have a grainy screen.
It's more simple if you have an LCD monitor to compare.
*
ya...i compared with another compaq laptop...u can see the difference between these two, its not sharp enogh but 1520 works fine i think...did ur lappy comes with truelife?

Grainy screen is the whole screen covering with little black specs. Just imagine as if you kept your laptop for a long time and there's a layer of dust on your screen.
*
hello brother, we are talking about the new inspiron here, what a layer of dust? come on...it's not that serious...the grainy thing is internally not externally...its a layer of white paper which u can c some texture embedded behind...

I don't really know the reason behind it, but that is what DELL told me when I called their support

Try nlite software...You can take out those parts like movie maker, classic MSNMSGR, classic window media player from the xp cd..Then u can add in all the 1520's drivers and the SATA hdd driver as well...burn all these into a blank cdr and there u go installing xp with peace of mind...but before u do so, make sure u delete off the recovery partition(which u only want xp as ur os)... what i did is, just make a partition C:, boot from xp cd, format vista and install xp...

Added on August 24, 2007, 8:43 amWhen i first get this inspiron 1520,there was chimmering sound...After i get a replacement unit due to the webcam problem, this new one longer has the sound anymore...Is that the processor? or the wireless device sound?

You want the travel remoted or TV tuner? I don't think Dell has the option to sell the TV tuner with this model.
*
do u know weeks ago dell had this promotion where they give out free travel remote control & tv tuner? (this is what i saw the other day, immediately i email dell to quote me the price and blame on them did not put it as an option when we order) check dell website, u will get waht i mean...i know it is not in the option, thats y i ask...
