AUO = AU Optronics. they are a major LCD manufacturer and many laptop LCDs are produced by them.

ok, from your observation, AUO2077 (1440x900) LCD is grainy. anyone else has any other types of LCD on your 1520?

so is it grainy? LPLCC i think is LG Phlips Labs. correct me if im wrong.

How you guys checked on the LCD manufacturer? Stated somewhere? In the driver file under Device Manager?

can you please take a look at your display properties and see who manufactured your LCD and what model is it? you can check it by going into device manager-->monitors-->properties-->details-->then select hardware ids from the drop down menu. i ordered the 1440x900 one too, im not sure which manufacturer made my LCD because i havent received mine. still waiting. will post once i got it.
oh my! from the reviews i read, the build quality seems to be good. coating fallen off is outrageous! call their support and bom them!

just out of curiosity, why do u have both 1420 and 1520?? 

has anyone using this lappy with windows xp? i'm an avid xp user and wish to continue using it till vista is mature/stable ( hardware's driver issue ). thanks in advance.

I am the one who immediately format my 1520 and install XP PRO into my laptop. Initially getting drivers problems, but all solved thanks to all answers I got from LYN, You can sourced back the questions that I asked and those useful answers from the thread "Dell New model Vortro,1520,1720,1521,1721 updated ". Hopefully you will enjoy using the laptop with XP!!

what is the temp of your GPU during gaming? from the reviews i've seen, 1520 is extremely good at dissipating heat. even at full throttle, the laptop only feels warm, not hot like other competiting brands.

can u verify this?

I also upgraded the Wireless controller to support Wireless N too.

Hope that doesn't create any compatibility issue since it does support other modes.

y i can play C&C3 on high setting..but cant play Far Cry even on low setting....why is this happening???cant even play properly on low...isk isk...

I think Wireless is enhancing currently WLAN A/B/G with MIMO capability (antenna coverage/directivity).

oo.. wan to ask something.i'm an owner of 1420 .. i can install the vista home basic that comes v my lappy, and also successfully install winxp sp2 (so called FREE EDITION) but when i install vista business.. successfully full install but when 1st time booting to windows, blue screen...

1st time i try, using my college burned CD with an original key from microsoft, but that i oredi activate it in my desktop

2nd time, using same cd but with the key from INTERNET, it list down all version of keys, when i keyin business key, it shows invalid  but when i key in ultimate key, it accepted .. ahha. funny.. so i jz ignore it and continue my installing, finally.. 1st time boot to windows, blue screen again

3rd time, i using my company MS partner vista business cd, but instead still using INTERNET key coz it only has 10 license, still not dare to install without permission of boss, result to blue screen oso..

then i install back with the home basic cd comes v my lappy, works..

so forth 4 times i was used to upgrade to business from the home basic using the college and company cd, key is INTERNET and college..

still the same..
do u think izzit because that is the cracked key and oredi activated key fault?

if so.. my windows xp oso is cracked key.. but can works pulak

hao, what you're trying to describe is like a MAC whereby a serial number (in this case will be the product key) has been programmed hardware's PROM.

will giv a call tomoro.. since i receive this lappy on friday and sat n sun technical support is not available..

Get back to stocked driver. That will solve it. Install driver cleaner and install the stocked driver back.

Does the 1520 come with a remote control? I've just ordered the lappie but I forgot to ask my sales agent about it
