After multiple times contacting different CS, I finally managed to get my the old stb box hooked up with my upb account. I must say the difference is really alot comparing the two. the old stb box quality is much much better. the colors is much richer and shaper. not to mentioned the subtitles are not longer pixelated like the one in upb. I strongly strongly suggest those who are not satisfied with the picture quality of the upb to get a stb box and hooked up with your account. all you have to do is just tell the cs that you want to bind the mac address of the stb box to your account and you will be able to use the stb box. Both of them are using the same login id which ends with @iptv really no regret buying the stb box. Qash-M and devilmaysmile liked this post

Because the new STB is streaming the same content as the App webstream, while the old one is a direct feed using it's own dedicated VLAN.I must say the difference is really alot comparing the two. the old stb box quality is much much better. the colors is much richer and shaper. not to mentioned the subtitles are not longer pixelated like the one in upb. From what I tested, the old STB is 50FPS, at least 10Mbps quality at 720p, while the web stream is 25FPS, 4 or 5 Mbps at 1080p. Also due to the STB feed being direct, it's at least a few minutes faster than the web stream that has to be re-encoded first |

QUOTE(stapler87 @ Dec 20 2020, 12:45 AM) Same with me.. the only things the new one come with YouTube. But TM not fix the app and video quality issue..I just keep for standby.QUOTE(linkinstreet @ Dec 20 2020, 09:35 AM) Because the new STB is streaming the same content as the App webstream, while the old one is a direct feed using it's own dedicated VLAN. Yes..That why the video quality is very bad. From what I tested, the old STB is 50FPS, at least 10Mbps quality at 720p, while the web stream is 25FPS, 4 or 5 Mbps at 1080p. QUOTE(linkinstreet @ Dec 20 2020, 09:35 AM) Because the new STB is streaming the same content as the App webstream, while the old one is a direct feed using it's own dedicated VLAN. How you test the old STB and get 720p & 10 Mbps? What I see is consistent 8-9 Mbps. New one varies, normally 3-4 Mbps, but some channels eg BBC Earth can reach 6-8 Mbps. From what I tested, the old STB is 50FPS, at least 10Mbps quality at 720p, while the web stream is 25FPS, 4 or 5 Mbps at 1080p. Also due to the STB feed being direct, it's at least a few minutes faster than the web stream that has to be re-encoded first I assume both encoded differently. Older STB probably using older codec on constant bitrate so even bad TV1 stream still shows 8-9 Mbps. New one probably uses newer codec with variable bitrates, similar to Youtube. Old STB probably still better, but for me not much, and I can no longer tolerate a long cable just for my white STB. |

QUOTE(Qash-M @ Dec 23 2020, 12:37 PM) max 802.11 AC..so far stable and image quality good. Only issue is Kodi playback can see visible overscan band if not playing movies at 12.9:1 ratio but otherwise Unifi TV broadcast stable and good for me Qash-M liked this post

QUOTE(stapler87 @ Dec 15 2020, 11:55 PM) After multiple times contacting different CS, I finally managed to get my the old stb box hooked up with my upb account. Agreed. The old STB vs UPB, the quality is like comparing day and night on a large screen TV. It becomes very obvious when you view on a 55" and above TV! Not to mention other nuisances of the UPB, like pixelated sub-title (horrible looking), broadcast delay and internet bandwidth availability.I must say the difference is really alot comparing the two. the old stb box quality is much much better. the colors is much richer and shaper. not to mentioned the subtitles are not longer pixelated like the one in upb.
