Oh man, give this movie a break and just enjoy it without finding any plot holes with it. The fact that the producers made this film totallly in videocam fps view is so that they don't have to bother telling you about the monster's origin and what happened next. A good monster movie doesn't explain everything for you, it leaves you imagining the entire situation, not to be spoonfed until the very end.
The ending of the film is probably one of the best endings I've seen recently. I wouldn't wanna know the real ending, nor do I wanna see the monster being defeated by missiles and jets. Have you not see enough of crap like this? The ending was abrupt and refreshing at the same time, without giving you any chance to gather your thoughts before the end of the show. Those of you who can't take this concept should go back and watch Ultraman. If you can't take shaky cam, that's a reasonable excuse though. |

QUOTE(gogo2 @ Jan 18 2008, 12:49 PM) I agree with you. i dont think u get the idea on what the makers of the movie wants to portray, picture urself in a scenario where there happened to be a massive hysteria, would you still be holding your camera still taking sweet steady shots from the best prospective and stuff? If someone go to overseas and take holiday movie but keep on shaking his camera, I won't watch one. FYI, I'm a camcorder user. Since I intend to let people watch the movie I take, I make sure it is properly hold. Shake also shake in a very slow motion. Else, no matter how new the thing in the camera, I won't go and see it liao. furthermore u've sounded as if you're being forced to watch this movie from the very beginning? what gives? |

First of all, depends on which plot hole you are talking about. If it's the timeline, I have to disagree. If it's about the flying monster diving into the water, I have to disagree. Why wait so long to cause havoc? Well, we'll see how it goes and if it even is the monster at all.The ending of the film is probably one of the best endings I've seen recently. Just that it whole cam recording can be done in a better way, least logic but much pleasent to watch for the audiences |

To say the producers don't care is naive. The fact that they have had such a detailed ARG tells you a lot about how much they care. It's not a fault in the film but it's a fault in the ARG and the ARG affects the Cloverfield experience. You are watching the film on its own but I am a fanboy btw kobe, what happened to the exchange? it didn't transpire. Besides, if they didn't want us to care about the timeline, it wouldn't have been an ARG in the first place And I didn't know where your friend was. I was fiddling with my bucks and he didn't appear. |
