I was so into the love story between Awesome Rob and Beth that the monster flick didn't matter much to me. I would have seen a romantic drama between those two, yet alone a monster flick. This movie just blew me away. All my time spent at Unfiction and Cloverfield Clues e-mailing Dennis was a waste though since it was not on 1-18-08. Part of me thinks that the reason it was not January was because Paramount may have wanted to release it as a summer blockbuster but due to early viral marketing of 1-18-08.com, they couldn't? Any thoughts? Otherwise, why the time stamp on the photos?

There are a lot of scenes/bloopers that didn't make the final cut. The girl jiggling her tits didn't make it and "This is gonna be the best night ever!" and "OMG,I saw it, it's alive, it's huge?" That too didn't make it. Having said that, I cannot reiterate how awesome this movie is

And it would have been bloody better if they didn't have Paramount and Black Robot or the dramatic thumps. Imagine if you just saw the tape inserted with the background "Property of ......"

Which by the way f***ng reminds me, why have MySpace accounts with all the comments linking that the ARG is going to end up at 1-18-08. Having said that, UBER COOL

Personal opinion:

Not because of the sequel factor but if you stay till the end, there's static that you can hear through. It's not NOTHING at the end

aiya everyone in the world thinks differently mah. DUH!
in this movie the guy is a noob but wants to show the world what he is seeing
the characters in the show even said , something along the line " People is going to know how it all went down".
some footage is better than no footage

may i know wat brand handycam can start record from 10pm to 7am without charging?

yup hud did actually said that " People will want to know how it all went down"(something like that) when someone(can't remember who) ask him why is he still filming

Ehem...we're watching the full recording throughout the movie, which means around 90 minutes ++, not straight from 10pm-7am. Haizz...almost all handycam can last that long. But dont tell me you wanna know the battery model also.

It was not recorded throughout and secondly there were pauses so out of the 10 pm to 7 am - we only see 60 + minutes of the event. Add to the 20+ minutes before the first tremor. Makes sense. The movie is very believable within it's own reality. Hud shouting out



sounds just about how you and I will sound before our deaths. But the monster dropping from the sky in a vertical dive? Meh, that's lame

Well, I read a comment from a forumer on the fact that shaking =/= realism and that even if you had a real disaster, there wouldn't be that much shaking. Well I disagree on couple of points:

-HUD is not a professional cameraman. He can barely focus on shots if his life depended on it.
-Most tornado footage that you and I see are of people who stand from a highplace and shoot it or start walking with 'OMG, OMG" or they are from inside their own safespots filming it.
-HUD has ran for seven hours for his life and traveled miles through New York, cut him some slack.

This arguement is getting silly n trivial,but for the sake of it :-

Why of course.Especially if I was busy recording somethin and all of a sudden u hear screams and explosions roar over you,why won't u continue recording.

And did I mention, he has not held the camera before as it's not his so the shots are noobish. He can't even focus on Jason or Rob's head

And as I have said, if you can have time to stand and watch a robbery [I have seen ppl doing that ]. why not shoot a movie as well? Besides 'ppl will wanna know how it all went down' and 'they have to see this.'

just finish watching this movie,...i just dun like the ending... and the whole camera thingy..so dizzy... it can b a great movie.. but i'm not comfortable with many many many many camera angle.. feel like sleeping in the cinema..

And due to your mentioned reason, I think they should had make Hud a pro cam user or working as a reporter...
This might minimize the shaking and how he really should position his cam.

anyway no point arguing why the camera shakes, etc

this is intentional...by the director/producer who wants to portray realism...

Cool findings. Though I'm abit sceptical, but its no surprise for them to continue with sequels. JJ Abrams has every intention to make this monster a household name for US. He definitely wouldn't kill it off in the first movie.
