--on www.1-18-08.com the site began with the close-up photo of two girls, their eyes shocked and wet with tears, looking at an unknown terror. The photo is dated 1/18/08 12:36 am. It is possible to see a demon-like apparition in the smoke in between the girls, but whether this is purposeful is not known.
--The site recently (when?) updated with a second photo of Rob (I believe) drinking and partying with his friends. The sign in the background says "We'll Miss"... It's dated 1/18/2008 12:01am. Is the girl from the first photo in the background on the right?
--The trailer was posted on the apple quicktime site, and you can watch it in HD. link:

--Whoever is filming is unknown, but a best friend to Rob. He's never named, at least as far as I know.
--38 seconds into the trailer, a loud but muffled voice can be heard just before the lights go out. It's debateable whether this is part of the roar, or an actual voice...I believe it's a booming female voice. Some people have argued it says "R'lyeh" which is the fictional city where Cthulu was buried (wikipedia it) or something like "Not yet" or "Not ready".
--The news report airs at 12:32am.
--People speculating in the video say "it sounded like an animal" and "what animal sounds like that?" Coupled with the roar, we can guess it is a creature of some kind, and not a robot.
--A man outside yells "I saw it it's (something), it's huge!" He either says "it's a lion" or "it's alive"
--There's a clear Japanese/Eastern decorating theme going on at the party. Rob is revealed to be going to Japan for unknown reasons. When the guy asks the cameraman "what are you going to do without Rob?" we can see that they're serving sushi at the party, and in the background there are many oriental-themed decorations. This could be a reference to the Godzilla/monster films of the past, although whether it's misdirection or not is unsure.
--Links between this project and www.ethanhaaswasright.com have been suggested. See the "Join the Revolution" posts for more on that. August 1st is an important date in that mythology.
--The statue of liberty's head in the film seems to be smaller than the real statue. Whether this is because of a production error or because it is not the real statue of liberty (one in vegas? one in france?) is unknown.
--Some claim that they can see a figure in the smoke around 1:25 in the trailer, in between the buildings (from where the statue of liberty's head appears in a few seconds)
--The trio of partiers on the street ask "Has anyone seen Jesse/Jason?" some sort of "J" name.
--It's interesting to me that this "creature" can blow things up. . .we see a huge explosion complete with bomb-like projectiles. Does it shoot fire? Or is it just hitting explosive things?
--The trailer ends with the ominous "it's gonna be the best night ever," suggesting to me that the events take place within a 12-24 hour period, and that time is important (just as the photos/news report clearly show the time)
