Like or no like... bad or damn good the movie is...

At the end of the day, most of us seen it... and will this movie be a big hit we will know by next week...

Still, I am reading a lot of comments... and most of them are 1/2 like and 1/2 don't like with American audience loving it but not saying it great...

The one I like most is from Yahoo saying "this is a gimmick movie"... which is so darn true...

The realism can be more if not for certain illogical scenes... one that we all need to pay attention...

Seems to me that i have to watch the movie a second time.Really want to watch the part about something falling under the water.IMO it is the tagruato satelite which somehow wakens the monster.Than the monster go and attack Chuai Station but too bad japan ninja rescue them so the monster hv nothing else to eat which is why it went back to NY.Btw i really laugh at the scene when some people went and rob one of the eletronic shop.Seems like one of the things that i will do.lol.All in all 8 stars out 10 for me.I minus one mark for dizziness and another one for Rob's stupidityin not replacing the tape.Y u might ask is if not we now get to watch Rob and Beth doing it.

new message on the T.I.D.O wave
"Horns down. If we go quiet, it won't be permanent. May the great mother protect her servants in their greatest time of need. She guides our hands."

Which makes me think, is it possible that the tido wave is actually behnid the monster.Cuz they hate Chuai Station and boom the station is gone, and now Ganu is in U.S and b4 u know it BOOOOM New York is gone.
icon_rolleyes.gif Just my 2 cents.

I honestly doubt that. I'm more keen to believe that TAGRUATO is behind the discovery of the beast. TIDOwave probably released it or just didnt know anything about it. Horns down might me the sound of war horns people made during old wars. happy.gif

Imagine if the trailer is how the movie is shake...shake...shake. Everyone will say, "What movie is this? Shake till cannot see anything." laugh.gif The trailer is false advertising. It doesn't shake but the movie does. doh.gif

So, is this an over-rated or over-expected movie?

i was at ioi mall yesterday when my friend called me and ask if i'm intersted to watch a movie...called...clover-what?

i tend rush up from klang to puchong and realized there's surprisingly half of the cinema full! so many people were watching

when i sit already that time and watch for few minutes...i realized there's something unusual and ask myf riend...

'dude...what's this movie about...dont tell me...'

and yeah, i then i realzied and 'wtf' in my mind when my subconcious tells me this whole movie is going to be handcamm-ed for 2 hours approx. i was like '*** loh ma hai'

of coz thru half of the movie i almost felt like vomit and saw soem people going out of the cinema coz i think they can't really take it anymore, but afterall a while i think i manage to get through the entire thing lol. (i sick for half day after play hl2, figure this)

well the suspense is definitely there, and i like how they portray the intensity of the event itself, just that i'm not satisfied is...i don't wtf is the movie about and i went and sit inside...

no i mean i really enjoyed the storyline as it's out of nowhere that this movie become like the hyper of the year? (i'm not inside the hype)

but then if you minus out the fking shaky camera and replace with a good fking cinematography, you'll still get an emmy award winning movie there. because the storyline is good. how often you see actor climb up from tower A at lvl34 jump to lvl34++ on the other building to save a girl? walau eh.

that goes the same to all other scene, flying missiles right in front of the actor/actress. i just couldnt take it anymore when you guys keep on justify that the shaky camera is a style and it's the best evr thing human that evr done. stop it. enough. cukup. fullstop. without it it'll still be a good movie. ffs. sometimes it all boils down to enjoying a good movie and not torturing our own fragile mind and soul.

Pros
New concept of realism from 1st person persective.
Convincing screen shots.

The above camcorder have excellent batt power.

New breed of monster introduced (disfigured fertile variant of Godzilla)
that dropped live spider "zergs".

The scene of Rob informing his mother of his brother's death was touching.

At the end after the bombing followed by the previous happy moments of them (Rob & Beth) together is dramatic.

Cons
Movie should been additionally labeled with NV sign (Nausea & Vomiting) warning and air-sickness bag should be distributed at entry. Viewers should be advised of least 3 hours from their last meal before watching.

Ill-fated Beth, survived from a penetrating injury, survived from a helicopter crash, missed being eaten by the monster, however, landed at ground zero ....... and high possibilities of being BBQ.

High mortality: Possible 1 out of 5 person survived (Lily).

Conclusion
It's similar to a "blair Godzilla project". Contraversial movie (some love it but some hate it).

Love the new concept of realism in this movie however literally (physically) the movie is nauseating and invoke vomiting. An image-stablizer would be better since it's a commercial movie. Not an pleasant moments for ur viewers to spend almost half of their time closing their eyes (due to giddiness) and searching for a sickness bag to vomit onto.

Actually, there was! When the group was running against the crowd in an alley, a Japanese dude was warning HUD of the danger in front in Japanese language. HUD said "I'm sorry, I can't understand what you're saying." That's basically a homage of Godzilla.
