instead of allowing you to deposit MYR right into IBKR balance

Hmm, that's sad. I saw a post on X where Malaysian Futures were added to IBKR and the cost was in MYR. So I figured MYR would be supported.

Wow I hope this is not like the old rakuten days where you can't hold currency balance for the instrument.

So each time you buy/sell, you need to do conversion fee

Buy FCPO, convert from SGD to MYR. Sell FCPO, convert to SGD from MYR.

Until IBKR allows MYR balance, just avoid

Today is Singapore public holiday, I just transferred via SG bank to IBKR citibank. Public holiday and over weekends they don't work? Meaning my money will only be reflected in IBKR on Monday morning? Anyone knows?

I doubt IBKR going to offer bursa products that trade and settle in MYR without allowing MYR balance in account, like how Rakuten implemented in the past as per Medufsaid post.

IBKR doesn't have license with SC Malaysia, impossible to allow trades that settle in MYR lah... MYR can only be hedged onshore some more...

my experience is it'll be processed slower, since is pure cash and not MMF.
