it has very solid build , with bandpass woofer , 2 way satelites design for better clarity.
The sound comes out from this speaker is clean , solid bass , decent midrange and above average treble for daily music listen purpose.
What make this speaker stand out from the crowd is the clean sound that no match by competitor in this price range , it definitely better than its closest competitor Sonic Gear Ev0 series. The Evo might louder but the sound quality not as good as e3100. smile.gif

I went to survey the Edifier S330 yesterday and found that its not bad around its range...but the pricing is like RM435 and they are reluctant to further discount....I was wondering is it the best price out there?

In that case should I fork out add Rm100 and go for altec lansing mx5021 instead?

S330 used to be selling at RM399 sad.gif
anyway, i think that's the standard price in Malaysia. but in Singapore, they are selling $118, which is way cheaper than RM399 even after conversion. perhaps u might want to wait for a little longer for S330D to reach our shore, and see if the retailers here would follow their singaporean counterparts steps to slash the price of S330 to clear the old stocks

Hi guys, I would like to ask about the speakers which recommend to buy it

For mine I looking the speaker price range around RM250 to RM400, has a good sound system and a not so bad surround speakers.

Likewise, in my research I do see that Logitech X-540 and Z-4 is also a good choice but one is surround with same quality as normal speaker and another one is no surround feeling =_=

I'm looking for the speaker with good sounds and some (not very strong) basses because I used to be for my laptop and listen those classical instrument music =)

My perception is 5.1 speakers (RM250-400) ones are meant for movie watching, not specially for instrumental music.

Since it's for laptop, I'll suggest Creative T40. You can demo it in All IT Hypermart in LYP.

5.1 is for movies / dvds encoded with DD or DTS. I don't see the point listen to music in surround format, it will just spoild the stereo image. Music is for stereo format only, means two channel with or without sub.

I think for RM400 in the market, there's no 5.1 speakers which owns in midrange & treble. Even S330 (2.1 speaker) is already priced at RM409.

I fear, RM 250-400 range for 5.1 speakers would likely land you on some brands which is just loud but sacrifices on sound quality. If that's all right with you, then by all means.

RM400 can get you a new 2.1 speakers that will produce good instrumental music. If you want 5.1, you'll need to put in more.

totally agree with the two experts. 5.1 for movies, not music. 2.1 for music better. even if u went to orchestra, u'll be sitting in front of them, not among them or right in the middle of the stage right? besides, it's for laptop right? not easy to move around a 5.1 set, compared to 2.1.

Added on February 22, 2009, 10:58 pmoh, by the way, wanna buy my speakers? if u're interested in a 2.0 setup, look at my garage sale. u can come and audition the speaker if u want, but i cant provide a good setup la cos my room damn small, and i dont have classical instrument music to demo. only oldies in mp3 format, and no sound card. onnboard sound card only.

hmm if like then how about the Creative T-Series speaker?

is that nice even the speaker comes with small size and also durable? because it looks like cannot tahan more than 1-2 years X_X

also a slightly off-topic, because I want to uses the speaker with the Creative 5.1 Xifi Surround USB Sound Card so does the quality drops while using a 2.1 speakers?
