So what happens when unifi mobile shows that i have 4G coverage, but unifi air shows that i have no coverage ?
*
unifi air only show band 38/40 coverage at their website.

MR6400 is good enough but make sure your area have strong band 38 / 40. Other recommendation of course huawei b310-852 for same price range.

So I borrowed a friends Unifi Air + B618 that came with it and am getting around 50Mbps

Given that the B618 is quite expensive any recommendations for an alternate router?
Was looking at TP-link MR6400 and Huawei B310, as well as B525 and B535
Just looking to get the most optimum router. Budget up to RM550

I'm not really know much about other router for the price range. If your budget up to 700, can consider b818. Cheaper than b618

I dont have a unifi mobile / air sim right now, i just use the site on unifi website like this, and compare with coverage on unifi air site, but I did applied for a sim 6-7 months ago, literally unusable
*
i see. best to say, unifi air wont work well there. since youre saying unifi mobile is unusable there.

the reason the coverage map show coverage for unifi mobile there, while unifi air is not,
i believe the coverage there is on the very edge of the tower range or the tower simply werent capable to serve high speed data for unifi air.

thats why unifi mobile is 'there', just to serve calls/sms, but not good enough to serve high speed data usage.

My area has no fibre line and i am currently using Ma-SHIT Go Wifi. The speed is good at daytime but come night time, it is really shitty and lags badly.
I am interested in Unifi-Lite since it offers unlimited data. May i know what is the speed that is getting and can i just plug-in into my existing TP Link modem? I believed buying the simcard does not require contract basis.

The speed depends on area/coverage. Im getting 20mbps, sometimes single digit only.
If your TPLink can support 4G sim, its a go.

Thanks .. when you said single digit, what would be the number and do you encounter poor signal till date, like literally cut off?

Not cut off, sometimes (rarely) maybe during peak hours. Like 6-8mbps. Signal always full bar.
Forgot to mention, any 4G modem with band 5/38/40 supported is a go.

Start using Unifi Air from early July until 28 October 2020.. The speed max i can reach around 105mbps download.. on peak hour, still reasonable around 50-60mbps.. maybe not too many users around using it.. and upload roughly 6-7mbps.. im back with my Unifi Fiber.. applied relocation roughly 3months..

I'm using the Huawei E5577S mifi. For Digi i150 the range is 5 - 13 mbps, for Unifi Air it's 1 - 3 mbps. Perhaps I should get a better router.

It's the unit that I got with the Digi broadband some years back. I guess it's time to get a better modem.
