Hi guys, just got mine unifi bebas today and looks like my area only have band 40
Speedtest using fast.com can get 7+ mbps. I use 1gb free for testing
Anything i should be watch out before i buy the unifi sim?
*
Have you try test during peak hour, evening, or night ? If all test resulted speed above 7Mbps then go for it.

should i take the risk? very near with blue  sweat.gif

Buy bebas sim first and try for a week. Test the speed, and coverage during peak and non peak hours.

My place also not in the blue area...but unifi mobile work fine
Thus i subscribed to unifi air
*
How the speed and stability ? Mind to share ?

QUOTE(gnome @ Oct 21 2020, 01:25 PM)
Yeah, yesterday test ady. Lowest I got during peak time 6mbps while others 7+. The line on my phone full bar but sometimes drop to 3 bar

Early morning around 2am only I saw the line drop to 2-3 bar, I check network cell lite app turn out I connected to band 5 tower
*
Band 5 not good enough, maybe can get a modem that locked the band 40, but if you satisfied with lowest 6Mbps from your testing then can subs to it.

I am sub to unifi air for past 6 months, recently came to know Unifi Fibre is coming up in my area, they have fixed the box and yellow fibre outside my house.

Can i upgrade to Unifi Fibre without paying the penalty, if there was ?

Go back to page 67 and you will find answer for this question. Someone with similar case as you

May I know what is the recommended device for unifi air for between RM200-350? I assumed without Mod since is illegal( risk get banned). EThank you
*
For that budget get a Huawei B310As-852 BUT make sure to check for Band 38 & Band 40 at your place since B310 852 dont detect Band 5. Can check lte band using Network Cell Lite app.

I dont have the Unifi Air sim yet. Plan to get it after I get the modem. I have checked the coverage area in Unifi Air website and my location is within the blue area so safe assume it should have  sweat.gif sweat.gif  sweat.gif
So far I only see modified Huawei B310As-852 in Shopee, it is safe o get the modified version? The warranty range 1-6months.. rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif

You can try ask in FB Group : B310 Owner Malaysia. Got seller there selling original unmod version.

Hi,
1st time user. Currently stuck with streamyx but need a cheap alternative since no Fiber in my area and am working from home for the next few months. Was looking into getting just the SIM card only. Any recommendations for a router. Budget around RM300+
Was looking at the TP-Link TL-MR6400 . Would that be a good router to get?
Any other alternative recommendations?
*
MR6400 is good enough but make sure your area have strong band 38 / 40. Other recommendation of course huawei b310-852 for same price range.

Found a temporary workaround fix from Unifi community forum. https://community.unifi.com.my/t5/unifi-hom...fice/td-p/37829

Steps taken:
1. Drop my PC LAN connection to UNIFI router.

2. Connect my PC to DIGI hotspot.

3. Connect to my office VPN.

4. Reconnect my PC LAN connection to UNIFI router.

5. Now, the VPN connection is working perfectly without any package dropping. Besides, the network is consuming my UNIFI bandwidth instead of DIGI bandwidth even though the VPN connection is established via the DIGI route previously.
*
hurmm i dont really understand. after step 3 and 4 above, your pc still connected to digi hotspot ? which means your pc connected both thru wifi digi hotspot and lan cable unifi router ?

I check on the TM website my home is not in coverage, but it got coverage beside the taman . It just next to my house about 15-20 unit houses. If I use it in my area , can I get the signal if this situation?
*
Test it yourself first. Get unifi bebas prepaid sim card and use app Network Cell Lite Info. Check what band you are connected and signal strength. Lastly check speedtest day and night, peak hours and non peak hours.

Unifi bebas prepaid sim card I test before . I can get 8mbps day and night . But I thought prepaid and unifi air using different band?
*
They both using same band. Should subscribe add on internet data to test your speed limit in the area. I think free 1 gb per day also can test max your speed.

Now purchase a new unifi prepaid sim card got free 1 week unlimited data. I use it everyday and I can get the full speed 8mbps . They using same band? That;s mean I can use unifi air in my area as well? Even the website showing my area is not in coverage for unifi air?
*
Yes same band and can use unifi air. Install network cell info app on your phone to check what band it is connected and the signal strength you are getting.

Do I need to use unifi prepaid sim card to test? Or I just need to check on the app which band is unifi using?

Why TM tell me it is different with unifi air and unifi prepaid band? They say cannot use, it is different
*
Put unifi bebas sim in phone and open the app. It will display band and signal strength. Not sure why they told like that, probably because unifi air is internet only service while bebas is phone services.

I already download that app. But I dont know how to read . can teach me? As I see,  that is running LTE, MCC:502
*
The app showing what band you are connected and just look at gauge meter. If it on green then you got good signal strength. Use that gauge to find best place for strongest signal to put your modem later.

So I borrowed a friends Unifi Air + B618 that came with it and am getting around 50Mbps

Given that the B618 is quite expensive any recommendations for an alternate router?
Was looking at TP-link MR6400 and Huawei B310, as well as B525 and B535
Just looking to get the most optimum router. Budget up to RM550
*
I'm not really know much about other router for the price range. If your budget up to 700, can consider b818. Cheaper than b618

Hi, did TP-LINK MR200 support unifi air ?
*
Support for band 38 and band 40. Not support for band 5... Still can use for unifi air but double check your coverage location.

No more b618. Buy sim card only and buy b618 from fb group / shopee.
