Hi there, just wondering by any chance anyone knows how's the performance for unifi air around Desa Park City, Kepong?

I have just relocated and renting a small place over here. Been reading around this particular topic and was hoping to get the RM79 sim only plan for unifi air.

I am using Huawei B315-22 4G Broadband router and will buy a tp link deco E4 to enhance the coverage.

Perhaps any advise for me? tq tq bossess...sorry to bother everyone or perhaps this question has been asked before. cheers and appreciate it smile.gif

B315s-22: 4G LTE B1/B3/B7/B8/B20/B38
This router not support band 40.
Try with unifi bebas prepaid first.

Since u have the modem but unifi sim card do manual network scan and look for webe 4G

Noted. tq very much for your advise. Will try to skip band 5, since it is always congested (from what i read over here)...hopefully able to get band 38 or band 40 with another router icon_rolleyes.gif innocent.gif

bebas sim card same line/system/band as unifi air?
need to try at parent's house too.

unifi air coverage map shows 'might' have tiny bit of coverage. LOL... need to be sure.

I have noticed that for a few months already.
In Seremban, most area is covered with Band 40 and rarely connect to Band 5.
Band 38, it is more to non existent at this point.

This router function is to just expand the WiFi coverage compared to the built in WiFi inside the modem like the ZTE or Huawei modem.
The maximum speed is still depends on the capability of the modem you are connected to.

Stronger signal Band 40 will take over slower band 5. It a good thing. Kudos to webe

unless signal reception is an issue for you, getting better antenna wont do any more good regarding the speed.

due to the nature of mobile telco tower, unifi air definitely affected by congestion, hence the speed during peak /off peak hour etc

[modem] <---signal---> [tower] <---capacity---> [internet]

Noted. Signal reception is good, mostly 4 out of 5 bars,

Anyway i tested this using free 1gb data on unifi bebas, so safe to say, it reflects the real life performance of unifi air? (uncapped speed)

Locked it to b40 btw

How do you lock to B40?

By the way, what is your signal strength in dB?

no need lock band if band 40 stronger than band 5. It use band 40 automagically
if unlucky another way around, get router without band 5 or device than can lock band. How ? that depend of device

Currently I'm using the ZTE modem provided and felt that it is weaker than Huawei modem. Can anyone guide me how to change the band?
