Hi. I am sorry if this question has been asked before.

I am a subscriber of Unifi Air. It has been 6 months now. I was told that Unifi fiber is coming to my area in Sept 2020. If I subscribe to Unifi Fiber, would they let me terminate Unifi Air without penalty?

i was about to ask the same thing. hope anyone can give an input about this. cos today i just had my unfii fibre installed.

now i have 2 tm service in my home. doh.gif

Later they will "discuss" with upper management team for the penalty waive

But they say they cannot promise on that waive
they'll try their best
Lol

Need to open report to unifi air directly ya
Since they said they are different department

Possibly no because the stupid unifi Air and unifi Fibre is operating like a different company.
I already asked them once, and they said might be impossible to terminate the contract.
The only way is to pay penalty to terminate contract.
That is why I opt for no contract and bought a B818 by myself.

yes, u are right. contact them via live chat for unifi air (a.k.a unifi mobile / formerly webe) will only give you straight answer about the penalty need to be paid. est rm 1500+ rclxub.gif

already ctc them by twitter so they escalate and open a report. now awaiting their decision. i believe their twitter is handled by the correct department ™ not unifi mobile/air team.

ill need to return the modem ofc. and live my life with my longly dreamed fibre internet innocent.gif

well.. im aware of that 24 mnths contract, but the cs at tm point and tm staff that called me did said, once fibre is available, we can switch and terminate. cos it considered an upgrade. hmm.gif

hope they will ease the process for me. otherwise skmm is the only way to go if unsolved. nod.gif

update:

last week friday tm contacted me, briefed me about the termination process.
as long there's no outstanding bills, you are allowed to terminate. with condition that you have unifi fibre newly installed under same name.

for the upcoming bills, there will be penalty will be shown and the penalty will be waived on the following months.
so there will be 2 bills that you need to wait. for the final bill, u only have to pay the remainders between bill cycle and last few days before termination.

already returned the modem to tm point. only 20 minute process. hope that clarify.

Do we need to bring any documents stating that we had installed the unifi fibre? Or just bring the router?

they may or may not ask for the fibre installation form.
however, they will need you to provide ic photocopy, and fill in service request form for termination.

the process is not straight forward as it sounds, as it require upper management to do the checking and process the waiver.

hope they'll improve the process in the future.

unifi 4G never roaming to celcom 4G network. Band 40 tower either share or TM Webe built their own single pole tower like YTL school tower. Just a few hour the new tower is born. another week for antenna, radio and TNB meter.

Got my unifi bebas today. Tested using my b310 routers. Even subscribed free 1GB daily still fluctuating around 6-8Mbps. I think already connected to b40 band, as this router not support band 5. Not sure if unifi air can achieve at least 20Mbps.

Free data has been capped to 8mbps only. Buy the paid data to get the real speed.

but mine still capped at 8mbps despite on free data. tried subscribed for high speed add on and yet speed still the same. Using iphone and b310 to test as no one use android phone. Router itself only support b38/b40 instead of b5. So from my understanding, i think it already connected to b40.
