To apply water slide decals, i just soak in water, let the decl come off, then apply to my kit, then dry it. correct?
*
and about this one...
you dont wait till the blue part come off in the water then only take the decal out...doh.gif
how you wanna applied the decal when there is no more the blue paper...u might end up damage the decal or worst accidentally fold the decal

you soak a bit inside water...leave a while then use nipper bring it out from the water along with its blue paper...to the kit and use cotton buds to slowly remove it from the blue paper and into the kit surface where you want the decal to be place.

QUOTE(Elanges @ May 13 2008, 12:14 PM)
guys.. i have a question

1. does the gundam model need to do priming b4 paint? if i didnt prime.. will the paint chip off?

2. which paint is best? water based or oil based..

3. which thinner is need to be used? i find those thinner from hobby shop is
expensive , what u guys normally use?

sorry cos askin lotsa question guys... i just wana start learn AB
*
Q1: no it does not!
Q2: ppl usually prefer oil based becoz of the choices of color and it dried off faster
Q3: use hobby thinner onli, dun buy industry thinner or u risk melting the kit.

QUOTE(Elanges @ May 13 2008, 01:16 PM)

@ Tsubasa66 : i've built a few revell fighter jet kits before, there are quite nice and fun to build if u have patience.

the older dated kits have less detail and the plastic quality is not as nice as newer ones, since revell is just starting to pick up the pace in kit runner quality....but seriously, the only parts i had trouble with where tiny ones like wheels. other than that i think the jets are quite a nice build.

for first time fighter jet builders, i suggest revell. the brand produces kits that are suitable for every level of modelling tongue.gif

compressor with auto stop but no tank actually got mini tank inside the compressor housing...
i dont have one but i know this coz i did a lot of scouting previously...
thats why got the auto stop function...
compressor with no auto stop an no tank got no mini tank inside the compressor housing...
after around 20-30 mins, u have to shut down the compressor, let it cool down for at least 30 mins then resume ur AB session...

tis forum got someone selling compressor and AB, but i forgot the name u can search around (they should be a compressor thread here too)
Or try going to Venus Art at Petaling Street, they are also Nanyang and Toy City near that area, which also sell compressor (contact no not available)
Another one is Multifilla (google it for the website and contact) located in Belakong.

u can but tat doing so will leave scratches, another smart way to cover up is to sand the whole model kit add some weathering effect and a flat top coat!
Walah u get a really cool mecha!

Added on May 14, 2008, 9:13 pmbest is u used those grade 1000 and above sand paper to do the job!

There is a few brand you can try. The most good quality is the tamiya. Others like hasegawa, trumpeter, revell, dragon and airfix. Recommended is tamiya, hasegawa and airfix.

I ve seen this comp before in 1U toycity. And you can try KLCC and midvalley toycity. There is one hobby shop in astria damansara which the owner using one of this. You can ask him to recommend. He is friendly. You can ask mr. low hobby HQ in city square, ampang. Saw one there and he demo to me. Abit noisy for me. Try this website also --> www.hobbiescorner.com. A local website. So should be cheap in delivery charge.

Oh ya ya that top coat, is it will cover the scratch after sanding? Because i found out that, it will cover the marker stroke that we drawing. So I think ( or hope biggrin.gif ) will be like that.
