QUOTE(darklancer @ May 16 2008, 11:15 AM) I think the main thing is just not thick, but clean should be the word. Some like panel lining to be thick and black, like cartoon/comic/anime style. However, from the pictures, one is thinner panel lining, while the other one is thicker and very black, but both the main thing trying to create is being clean.» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

yup as what rayloke saids because u didt clean up ur panel line carefully in result making the lines look thick ..... panel lining dosent require u to control ur pressure on ur hand ..... u can cin cai draw the line 1st ... then clean up the ink out side the panel line .... end result u can still have a very thin and nice panel line

Darklancer: GM01 water based? u should use cotton bud to make the thing thinner.... its way nicer and smudge effect make it looks like shadow or shading effect... trust me... its nice... BUT if u don wan to smudge it, equip urself with oil based GM01(200)... with that u don nid to make it thinner cuz its already thin enuf...
what zero1st said is correct... water based panel lining pen u no nid control the pressure one... simply hantam only, but be careful so ur pen tip wont 'burst' cuz the thing is soft tip compared to oil based who has a soft tip too but fine and supported by stainless steel to erect the thing... gd luk! question: how to make weathering effect with paint on kit? working on MG freedom now... still in sanding process through... |

QUOTE(zero1st @ May 16 2008, 09:35 PM) What Zero1st said is like the ultimate truth in modelling, research (He he talk like real only, i myself darn lazy too What we do is like what we did when we were in school art class. basically we r using paint to recreate the image of certain thing. if u see a drop of blood, you can use paint to create something looks like a drop of blood on your model. try to draw or paint the image u want, with the help from reference. just be patient, slowly paint bit by bit. u can use this as a guide line: I used to see a hongkong fren of mine, he's a pro modeller, he used 20 minutes, fully concerntreate, just to did some rust and oil stain on one GP03 knee cap. I saw him do it, just paint some color, wash, add somemore color, blend them.... exactly like what i did in water color class! |

Thanks for the comments and advices guys, really appreciates it. now i'll just stick wif clean lining first than effect first. wat i did was, after apply ink, i used cotton bud to "pull" or "spread" the ink out from the panel lines to make a bit effect. Or maybe i over did it @_@ a friend told me tat black is not a very good colour to make effect
I'll try simple clean lining on sandrock custom and see how it goes. my wzc ah...i dunno leh...i feel sayang to wash it n redo cos i applied topcoat oledi T_T leave it there to let me remind of my mistakes lah. |
