QUOTE(rayloke @ May 7 2008, 06:49 PM) dunno how to answer you le, it's like "how to use masking tape properly?" lawl, i noe what it is used for, its just that i dunno how to make the shapes that i want xDDAt least tell us what u want to use it for. Or is this your question? If it was, then pla plate can be use , when cut to desire shapes, to add details to your kits, scratch build something totally new or cant found in your box of model, adding extra shapes to your models, giving supports to extra parts of your model etc etc. It's just like a piece of plywood to a carpenter. U can imagine what he can use the pla plate for. lets say i wanna make a custom vernier/thruster...the shape is cylindrical rite? how do i use pla plate to get that shape? or even simpler, lets say i wanna make a custom rifle...how do i get the pla plate to that shape? as in, what tools to use for cutting the pla plate, and how to get the exact shape? xD sry sry im a noob, want to learn xDD |

QUOTE(300078 @ May 8 2008, 08:25 AM) To be honest if they are those ready made details plastic (usually made by Kotobukiya) just make used of them, it safe u all the problem, for thruster i would it is really difficult and waste a lot of plastic just to bend the darn thing, really hard to bend! thats one of the probs a newbie like me faces xDD so far the only thing i can think of is using heat to bend the pla plate, but somehow the ones i try doesnt look nice Another problem is cutting those plastic arent as easy as u think, just to make 2 of the plastic in the same shape is really difficult (difficulty increass while ur pla-plate thickness increase) and the cutters i try for cutting the pla plate all dont seem to give nice shapes too...lawl...how do u guys actually do it omg |

QUOTE(z3r0717 @ May 11 2008, 10:07 AM) yes, seriously it works... but ur work will be shit..... coz wat u try to do is not spray but instead plats of paints come out, get wat i mean? LAWL!!! knew it...if it really can make good work by just spraying then nobody would buy compressor in the first placeit's like u're blowing water out from a straw.... Added on May 11, 2008, 10:28 amcontinued from the model kit section : QUOTE keke, this is the 1/60 scale exia that i recently finished snap-fitting and pre-sanding with 500 grade sandpaper...im planning to give it a custom color scheme, but havent decided on what really to go for it. once its decided i'll sand it again with 1000 grade then surface xDDD so far, ive got suggestions from boltguard to do it in Tamama Custom color scheme and another idea is to do it camouflage color comments and ideas on what color scheme to do is appreciated xDDD yeah, so far only two suggestions and ideas xD This post has been edited by zeraato: May 11 2008, 10:28 AM |

QUOTE Maybe you can paint it to black Exia? like this ? user posted image hmmm, actually thats what it would more or less look like if its tamama custom lo...all the blue areas become black, red areas become silver, and yellow areas become white...kekeke, but i like the one u did too xDD imagine it with red eyes instead of green, so evil looking XDDDD QUOTE dude.. why not try it like zaku colour or bumble bee.. or if you like gold or chrome.. wow! gold or chrome...i think i would prefer chrome xDD how do i get the chrome color woh? as in really chrome type, like car rims lidat xDD silver paint alone wont get that kind of effect IMO. |

@ Tsubasa66 : i've built a few revell fighter jet kits before, there are quite nice and fun to build if u have patience.
the older dated kits have less detail and the plastic quality is not as nice as newer ones, since revell is just starting to pick up the pace in kit runner quality....but seriously, the only parts i had trouble with where tiny ones like wheels. other than that i think the jets are quite a nice build. for first time fighter jet builders, i suggest revell. the brand produces kits that are suitable for every level of modelling |

the "biji biji" is the sign that tells you the paint is acting like a corrosive agent due to the thinner mixture. or in other words...
its melting. |

whether or not the satay has chemical on it i dun think would be problem lo, since ur gonna use it to just suspend the parts in mid-air for spraying.
or the sticky tac u use to hold the part would seperate it anyway. it probably smells like chemical coz its sanded wood. logically, it will not affect ur kit in any ways ...i suppose. This post has been edited by zeraato: May 24 2008, 07:52 PM |

if the chemical smell is really strong (not sure if it is chemical or not), just soak it in warm to hot water to get rid of it la...
