QUOTE(tkh_1001 @ Feb 3 2008, 01:58 PM) guys...anyone know how to disable the hibernate option in vista? my com always go unresponsive when i try to wake it during the hibernation.. 1. Click Start (or the Windows Logo) -> All Programs -> Accessories. 2. In this folder you will see an entry labeled Command Prompt. Right-click this entry and select "Run as administrator." 3. At the command prompt, type "powercfg -h off" (without the quotes) and press Enter. Unfortunately there's no confirmation message to indicate whether or not you were successful. But we can confirm this for ourselves by typing "dir /a:h c:\hiberfil.sys" (again, without the quotes) and pressing Enter. If we were successful then you should get a message which says "File Not Found." Voila! We have just disabled Hibernation and freed up some disk space. But if you decide that you want to enable Hibernation later you can do so by following steps 1-3 again, but this time specify "on" instead of "off" during step 3. Note: If you get a User Account Control dialog during any of the above steps you can simply click Continue. from google |

i am thinking of upgrading the RAM of my PC..
i am using Abit KN8 mobo.. i can't seem to find the exact model number after scanning the whole mobo for so many times but managed to get something that look like a serial number (EEK003180).. from the manual (which is combining KN8/KN8 Ultra) is say the maximum supported memory is 4GB.. and the current ram that i am using is a DDR400 my questions: 1. does this mean i can have memory up to 4GB max? 2. my mobo support DDR2? thanks! |

Just wanna ask if anyone know how to properly dispose an old monitor? Its not working anymore cos the picture tube blew and charity organisation usually prefer something usable or in working condition.
Thanks. |

Yeah, wanna throw it away. Its a CRT monitor. Problem is I dunno much about electronics so don't think its wise for me to disassemble it myself.I remember a recent IT event in SG where they've collection point for you to drop off unwanted hardwares, is there any in MY? Cheers. |
