QUOTE(bornd @ Jul 31 2007, 07:50 PM) owh.. got it.. thnx.. another q comes here.. about proc.. wut is diff between brisbane, venice etc.. is it diff on quality or wut? Brisbane is a dual core ( dua otak ) processor under the Athlon64 X2 model using socket AM2 Venice is earlier single core ( satu otak ) processor under the Athlon64 model socket 939 these names are the codenames to differentiate the "generation" ( can't think of another word model name are used by normal consumers . |

QUOTE(bornd @ Aug 2 2007, 11:53 AM) Orlean is single core processor under the Athlon64 model socket AM2 next time Google for more , OK ? QUOTE(hirota @ Aug 2 2007, 09:46 PM) hello, 1 question here my mobo is Asus P4P800 SE does it compatible with SATA2 harddisk? if the mobo support SATA which means it'll support SATA2 as well? thanks in advance your mobo southbrige is ICH5R : Intel is the world's first chipset maker to integrate Serial ATA (SATA) and RAID 0, 1 functions into the South Bridge. The latest ICH5R chipset now delivers 150MB/s fast data transfer (SATA) and striping performance to enhance computing efficiency. you can make the SATA II hard disk to be compatible with your mobo by inserting a jumper ( refer to shopkeeper / owner manual ) this will limit your hard disk maximum speed (which will never reach sounds like limit the speed to half but no worries because you can hardly to notice the different in normal usage . |

QUOTE(Nemesis181188 @ Oct 9 2007, 07:37 PM) I got a stupid question here.I have an 8600gt ultra.Does overclocking it 50mhz causes any damange in a long run if I were to leave it on at night? The stock speed is 650mhz. 50MHz will not cause serious damage as long as you got proper cooling (acceptable idle and load temperature) but will the exra 50MHz increase performance ( frame per seconds ) ? QUOTE(JenYupz @ Oct 9 2007, 11:52 PM) Quick question... 1. Can I use IDE and SATA harddisk together? How to do master/slave? 2. Seagate SATA harddisk jumper setting is: a. Limit to 1Gb/s Operation b. 3 Gb/s Operation Which one do I choose? yes , can use together . SATA doesn't have master / slave laa SATA = 1 cable 1 drive QUOTE(themanwithnoname @ Oct 10 2007, 09:19 AM) Super Noob questions from me, If i buy and use Biostar TA690 G AM2 mobo, can i play high end games (Eg; COH,DOOM,NFS..) without any add on GPU? i guess NO in high detail settings , but maybe playable in low resolution & low quality which make the gaming experience collect money and invest at least mid-range display card for pc gamers This post has been edited by ktek: Oct 10 2007, 09:57 AM |

QUOTE(anodz @ Dec 7 2007, 08:55 PM) hi guys. one noob question i've upgrade my rig. now using c2d e4500 2.2 ghz. i've check the spec using cpu-z CPU-Z (sorry, dunno how to paste cpu-z here) according to the spec, my e4500 is 800FSB 2mb L2 cache. in review, it have 11x multiplier and use M0 core stepping. im concern about the core speed. it seem like it shows around 1200 mhz, while my processor stated as 2.2gb. is this normal? if so, how do i increase core speed to 2.2 ghz? running power save mode , to save enviroment . QUOTE(anodz @ Dec 7 2007, 11:23 PM) think first what's your purpose of overclocking ? Core2 E4500 not fast enough ? QUOTE(Najmods @ Dec 8 2007, 12:02 PM) Sorry, that's totally wrong. DDR400 is PC3200. I think your's is DDR2 533MHz, why don't you Google PC4200 and see what I mean. What is your laptop brand and spec? second to that , use the PC4200 divide by 8 and you'll get the speed in DDR form . |

I've a question.... I'm going to buy a notebook soon... Is there a way for me to connect to Streamyx through the phone line using my notebook? Do I need to buy any modem for this? Thanks! no , unless your notebook specification there stated comes with internal DSL modem . otherwise you'll need a DSL modem. QUOTE(Reeson @ Dec 9 2007, 03:44 PM) My desktop PC have 512MB DDR RAM right now.. I wanna add another 512MB or maybe 1GB. Question is, can i put DDR2 RAM in there? Will it work? QUOTE(SkYY @ Dec 12 2007, 11:39 PM) hey guys, i went to a computer shop today to get a new gc. my old galaxy AGP 8x 6600 DDR 256MB spoiled sometime ago. the new card is AGP 8x ATI 9550 DDR2 256MB. the card couldnt work after they plug it into my computer. and the person say that my mobo doesnt support DDR2 for gc bus. my mobo is AGP 8x bus so i thought any AGP card(no matter DDR, DDR2 or DDR3) can be supported by my mobo? why the guy say that my comp doesnt support DDR2 for my AGP bus? false statement , that 'DDR2' should be concerned by the graphic card architecture not mobo . the fator make the card couldn't work maybe : dust inside AGP slot power supply perhaps ? try reset BIOS |

P35-DS3 - comes with JMICRON (a brand) hard disk controller, useful if you need extra 2 SATA hard disk or RAID configuration P35-DS3L - don't have extra hdd controller , support standard 4 SATA (ICH9) P35-DS3R - no extra hdd controller but the built in southbridge can do RAID (ICH9-R) please correct me if there's mistake |

QUOTE(akachester @ Dec 21 2007, 04:19 PM) the 40sec machine is E2140 stock speed while 29sec is E2180 stock speed as you requested . Opty 165 stock speed i guess over 40 seconds , which is of course SUPERPI result is not everything , faster or slower still depend on usage . modern CPUs shouldn't be much different in general purpose . QUOTE(malayneum @ Dec 28 2007, 11:25 PM) 1)The Abit 'IDE to SATA converter' can it really make your IDE hdd really transfer as fast as SATA speed or is it just a gimmick that was only designed to allow IDE hdd be put into SATA port?? 2)How to check sata HDD transfer speed? Got software to recommend? 1) the bold part is true 2) a software called HDTach , search from Google QUOTE(amduser @ Dec 29 2007, 08:59 PM) i dont know how to take out my fan ler, seems like it stick with the heatsink, my processor is AM2 and stock HSF haha , i understand your case. it's the one with Delta fan ( blue/black/red wire ) you can try use flat screwdriver to 'korek' it out tried once and it won't break easily another way is use hi-preasure pump to spray out the dust QUOTE(Kyoyagami @ Dec 29 2007, 10:39 PM) Noob here. I wanna get my gf a notebook at 1gb of ram, but from what i checked with Compaq, all 1gb rams notebooks are more than 2500. I wanted to get her the 2000 one, so i was wondering if we can buy like seperate ram and install it in the notebook. But what puzzles me is, how is this accomplished when the default ram is there? (512mb) 1GB or more is recommended for Windows Vista , whynot you ask the sales agent to customize the same model ( take out default 512MB and add 1GB from factory ) QUOTE(akuinsan @ Dec 30 2007, 12:22 AM) what is different on my pc performance between if i using intel e2140/1.6ghz/1mb L2 cache proc VS using intel pentium D 820/2.8ghz/2x1md L2 cache proc. (i have this 2 proc, but dont know want to use e2140 or pd 820), my mobo is asus p5pe-vm the new E2140 performance is incredible and run cools ( compared to PD 820 ) time to change This post has been edited by ktek: Dec 30 2007, 06:26 PM |
