QUOTE(Kyoyagami @ Dec 29 2007, 10:39 PM) Noob here. just add another 512mb into it, match the 512mb that come with the laptop at same speed...I wanna get my gf a notebook at 1gb of ram, but from what i checked with Compaq, all 1gb rams notebooks are more than 2500. I wanted to get her the 2000 one, so i was wondering if we can buy like seperate ram and install it in the notebook. But what puzzles me is, how is this accomplished when the default ram is there? (512mb) QUOTE(Aquariusdenz @ Dec 30 2007, 12:13 AM) yes ut can be remove... no fan are design to stick with heatsink.. im using the stock fan and heatsink also... dont know how to remove ler, the 4 skru hole at the fan there dont hv skru QUOTE(Najmods @ Dec 30 2007, 05:24 AM) You can remove the fan, remove it with the mounting bracket to the heatsink which part?? i'll post the pic here....Depends on what resolution you play your games. If you play more than 1600x1200, I suggest you buy the 512MB version AM2 board with AMD processor |

QUOTE(Najmods @ Dec 30 2007, 01:53 PM) You can't see from that pic, underneath the fan there's a plastic bracket that lock the fan to the heatsink, open up the heatsink and you can see the clip that the mounting bracket that holds it to the heatsink. It's pretty straightforward, and common sense i know the bracket, skru at the motherboard that one mar....i means i cant take out the fan after taking out the heatsink, the fan stick with the heatsink |

QUOTE(Najmods @ Dec 31 2007, 01:09 PM) Use screwdriver , pulling them out gently through the heatsink fins, on where the plastic bracket fits itself on the heatsink gently These instruction is useless without pics.... just use common sense. I remove it no more than 30 sec QUOTE(Aquariusdenz @ Dec 31 2007, 02:42 PM) yups... we cant teach you through words.. since that the plastic is hard, then put more energy to pull the plastic with screwdriver(but not the wrong way, if not how much energy you use also useless) i'm impatient, i scare later u use too much force then break the fan QUOTE(akuinsan @ Dec 31 2007, 04:05 PM) if to hard, buy some thermal compound/thermal paste, open the whole heatsink... then clean up old thermal paste at the heatsink..re-apply new thermal paste, screw back your heatsink.. i want to wash the fan, just wash the fan with heatsink attach r hard, there still many dust in it, at first i hv think about take the whole heatsink with the fan and soak it in the water and let it clean, but i lazy to wait for the water inside the fan to completely dry |

QUOTE(Aquariusdenz @ Dec 31 2007, 04:40 PM) soak the fan into water? that may cause damage to some part of the fan oh.. maybe the motor will damage also... since you talk about hairdryer.. why not try use it to blow out the dust(if possible lah).. or maybe use vacuum cleaner.. some vacuum cleaner have 2 function.. one is blow one is suck.. can try blow or suck the dust.. Ianho say it wont damage anythings as long as it is completely dry, i want to take out the fan is because i want to do it in a faster and safer way, i cant afford any lose, so ii want to clean it to prevent mobo burn and overheating.QUOTE(Aquariusdenz @ Dec 31 2007, 11:30 PM) water can wash away oil, oil is very hard to remove by plain water, unless u mix the water with Dynamo or detergent.QUOTE(Aquariusdenz @ Jan 1 2008, 12:10 AM) it will go into the motor, as long as it is dry then it's ok to use.... |

QUOTE(Nemesis181188 @ Jan 3 2008, 06:56 PM) I know this is a Noob question but how do you remove your CMOS batteries?Do I force it out or is there any special way to replace it?I'm afraid I might spoil the motherboard or something.. there is a metal clip at the battery holder there, find somethings to push the metal clip outward(not with extra force, not with weak force) then find a screw driver to take the battery out |

QUOTE(sinclairZX81 @ Jan 3 2008, 07:42 PM) Question : Why when my computer is under stress (from many applications running) there is a sound like disc scratching high pitch less than a second long but continuously sounding until applications stop? Tried putting my head into casing to detect but can't pinpoint. Thought it was the harddisk, so changed it, but still the sound is there. However, does not affect the performance of the computer and everything runs fine, just that the sound is annoyingly annoying. is ur optical drive running?? or it is beeping sound or scratching sound? QUOTE(sang_karim @ Jan 4 2008, 09:39 AM) need help here ... i have a 2Gb MS Duo Pro for my sony digital camera. i have sum pic inside it. while i'm taking pictures suddenly error msg pop up showing "format error" or "reinsert the memory stick" . i have try reinsert the memory stick many times also can't. when i'm insert through card reader, it's can't explore the card. error msg pop up" the disk is unformatted. QUOTE(ck_tonny @ Jan 8 2008, 01:30 AM) i think the 7300GT will be better QUOTE(soul_star @ Jan 9 2008, 11:44 AM) Hi,can someone suggest me what graphic card should i buy?.I use graphic card to play direct x 10 game. (budget is around rm450) and where to buy it? i think 8600GT will fit ur budget QUOTE(hongwai @ Jan 10 2008, 03:52 PM) standard would be 1280x1024QUOTE(moniqee @ Jan 10 2008, 10:13 PM) can someone help me?? how do i check my laptop temperture?? i'm using fujitsu lifebook S7111. thank u! which temperature u mean? chipset temperature? try speedfan, or nvidia monitor.QUOTE(camel90 @ Jan 10 2008, 10:58 PM) hey guys. heres the problem i suffered right now. might be ur gc already damage due to the heat it generate, try run at stock speed, if that problem occur again, start ur window in safe mode then disable all the oc settings, if this problem still occur i think u hv to send back to factory/shop for RMAyesterday i try to OC my 7600GS with this setup : original setting : core bus=400MHz memory bus = 400MHz my overclocked setting : core bus=515MHz memory bus=415MHz it is indeed a very stupid move. i know. and the core speed i hav is like this » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « after quite some time play my LFS without any problem i try to play with rFactor. yeah..it crashes sometime. after that i turn off the pc and when i turn on again the startup screen all i cant see the only thing i can saw was blurry white image. then, i take out the GC and try to turn on the pc with my on board GC, surprisingly it works well. then i try to install the 7600GS and all the driver and yet it works perfectly since lat night until 3pm's today before i turn off my pc. but now i turn it on again the symptom comes one more time with all blank/blurry image at the sttartup screen. now im using on board GC once again and it works well. well, the thing that makes me confused is, IF the card is really dead it wont even survive whole night right? in fact when i play LFS last night the FPS seems ok though. ps:sorry for my noobness in PC's term QUOTE(Aquanox28 @ Jan 11 2008, 01:42 PM) Hi all, I'm just want to ask a question or two here. So, given these two setup, whereby both will have the HD3870 512MB DDR4 as the GC: not much different i can tell u, but it depends on wat games u run actually, some games tend to be more CPU dependent and some would be more on graphic card, bottleneck is still there watnever how u oc it, even if it has different, it wont be that significant, maybe just a few framerate increase which u cant actually feel it unless u're doing benchmarking.a) Intel E2140(overclocked to E6750 speed, or more) paired with Gigabtye P35 DS3 b) Intel E6750 (stock) paired with Gigabyte P35 DS3 May I know how big is the real world performance difference between these two setup? Would it be significant? Also, how bad is the bottleneck between the two setups? Also, may I know which mobo has better performance? DS3 or DS3R? Thanks in advance. P/S: Running at 1680x1050. |

QUOTE(mizivincible @ Jan 13 2008, 10:43 PM) With same 800mhz core engine, 256mb memory and 128-bit memory interface gddr3, can I crossfire Sapphire HD2600XT with Sapphire HD2600 Ultimate ? As I notice the difference is only the cooling department. Just want a clarification here. no, it must be both HD2600XT or both HD2600.For the Pentium D to C2D, not all mobo can, but most the latest mobo do support C2D. |
