If the dust filled the heatsink, you can remove it and wash it, take out the fan first. But don't wash the board! I use old toothbrush to brush them off

I wanna get my gf a notebook at 1gb of ram, but from what i checked with Compaq, all 1gb rams notebooks are more than 2500.

I wanted to get her the 2000 one, so i was wondering if we can buy like seperate ram and install it in the notebook. But what puzzles me is, how is this accomplished when the default ram is there? (512mb)

yes ut can be remove... no fan are design to stick with heatsink.. im using the stock fan and heatsink also...

You can remove the fan, remove it with the mounting bracket to the heatsink
Depends on what resolution you play your games. If you play more than 1600x1200, I suggest you buy the 512MB version

You can't see from that pic, underneath the fan there's a plastic bracket that lock the fan to the heatsink, open up the heatsink and you can see the clip that the mounting bracket that holds it to the heatsink. It's pretty straightforward, and common sense

haha , i understand your case.
it's the one with Delta fan ( blue/black/red wire ) you can try use flat screwdriver to 'korek' it out
tried once and it won't break easily
another way is use hi-preasure pump to spray out the dust

Use screwdriver , pulling them out gently through the heatsink fins, on where the plastic bracket fits itself on the heatsink

These instruction is useless without pics.... just use common sense. I remove it no more than 30 sec

yups... we cant teach you through words.. since that the plastic is hard, then put more energy to pull the plastic with screwdriver(but not the wrong way, if not how much energy you use also useless)

if to hard, buy some thermal compound/thermal paste, open the whole heatsink... then clean up old thermal paste at the heatsink..re-apply new thermal paste, screw back your heatsink..

soak the fan into water? that may cause damage to some part of the fan oh.. maybe the motor will damage also... since you talk about hairdryer.. why not try use it to blow out the dust(if possible lah).. or maybe use vacuum cleaner.. some vacuum cleaner have 2 function.. one is blow one is suck.. can try blow or suck the dust..

but then maybe will wash away the oil of the bearing in the fan oh.. how??

hello guys i have a problem.

i bought a new sata hdd recently and tried to install winXP into it, well somehow the setup shows that it dosent recognise my hdd.
when i hit F6, it prompts me to enter some sort of floppy disk ?

can i get the driver in the floppy from the net ?

Question : Why when my computer is under stress (from many applications running) there is a sound like disc scratching high pitch less than a second long but continuously sounding until applications stop? Tried putting my head into casing to detect but can't pinpoint. Thought it was the harddisk, so changed it, but still the sound is there. However, does not affect the performance of the computer and everything runs fine, just that the sound is annoyingly annoying.

need help here ... i have a 2Gb MS Duo Pro for my sony digital camera. i have sum pic inside it. while i'm taking pictures suddenly error msg pop up showing "format error" or "reinsert the memory stick" . i have try reinsert the memory stick many times also can't. when i'm insert through card reader, it's can't explore the card. error msg pop up" the disk is unformatted. Do you want to format it now?" .. anybody can help me with this. is there another way for me accessing the card? 

very2 noob question here from final_zenith
he just receive his hardisk today..
so he partition 50g  of 320g hardisk n insert all the data that he wan  to save from his old hardisk
first he format the 50g using Computer Management..
its only option is simple drive..not primary not extended..just simple..
then after that he format using cd windows...
problem start to surface..
first..
his hardisk only detect total volume hardisk whiich is 320g
second when he try to format the hardisk...pop up window tell him that the hardisk cannot format becoz of unknown partition..can some1 help ???

hey guys. heres the problem i suffered right now.

yesterday i try to OC my 7600GS with this setup :
original setting :
core bus=400MHz
memory bus = 400MHz

my overclocked setting :
core bus=515MHz
memory bus=415MHz

it is indeed a very stupid move. i know.
and the core speed i hav is like this

after quite some time play my LFS without any problem i try to play with rFactor. yeah..it crashes sometime. after that i turn off the pc and when i turn on again the startup screen all i cant see the only thing i can saw was blurry white image.

then, i take out the GC and try to turn on the pc with my on board GC, surprisingly it works well. then i try to install the 7600GS and all the driver and yet it works perfectly since lat night until 3pm's today before i turn off my pc.

but now i turn it on again the symptom comes one more time with all blank/blurry image at the sttartup screen. now im using on board GC once again and it works well.

well, the thing that makes me confused is, IF the card is really dead it wont even survive whole night right? in fact when i play LFS last night the FPS seems ok though.

Hi all, I'm just want to ask a question or two here. So, given these two setup, whereby both will have the HD3870 512MB DDR4 as the GC:

a) Intel E2140(overclocked to E6750 speed, or more) paired with Gigabtye P35 DS3

b) Intel E6750 (stock) paired with Gigabyte P35 DS3

May I know how big is the real world performance difference between these two setup? Would it be significant? Also, how bad is the bottleneck between the two setups?

Also, may I know which mobo has better performance? DS3 or DS3R?

Difficult to say. Some bios updates fix big things, others just add features to the mobo/

For the Pentium D to C2D, not all mobo can, but most the latest mobo do support C2D.
