Normal W10 already has device (disk) encryption built-in. You can enable that. Don't need BitLocker (W10 Pro) for that. Most modern laptop nowadays already have this, but sometimes not enabled by default. It's the same functionality as BitLocker minus the fancy stuff.

Yea I saw your post on this, but the price differs by a lot. It will be staying on my desk most of the time so the built is not really an issue for me. Don't see anyone complain about its thermal issues so far, hopefully a cooler pad could help keeping the temperature in control.

just asking haha.. i'm thinking if i buy and waited for 8 weeks or more and suddenly they cancelled, then wasted my time.. i'm looking at Yoga Slim 7 with 4800U..

4800H for below RM2.9K, how to justify getting other range like L15 with 4750U which is about same price, or Slim 7 with 4800U which more expensive

well people keep saying Thinkpad is tough, but even if i get Thinkpad not that i'm going to purposely drop it

Lenovo is again on lelong mode when they sells this budget gaming laptop and offering “FRONTLINER” discount. The performance/price it offered is unseen or unmatched for a long time. Be it the lowest variant or highest variant, both are “dirt” cheap for what it’s offering. (Though I don’t really suggest upgrading the 1650 to Ti, it cost RM190 more just for the slightest performance increase, less than 5% IIRC).




I also very tempted in the performance/specs this Gaming Ideapad can offer if I don’t have a working laptop with me (I’ve actually upgraded/side graded 3 laptops in the past 5 years, 2 of them sub RM1.5k cheap pricing but still no reasons to do any upgrade or purchase any time soon...)

Lenovo actually have a spinoff model called Ideapad Creator and it came equipped with a decent display. If I can source this panel for cheap and upgrade the Ideapad Gaming, I might just pull the trigger again. haha

At 2.3k, it's dirt cheap. Even if it is not in the same grade as L5 AMD series. Can be used for office, very powerful.

I'm looking a new Lenovo laptop for student use + web browsing + Ms Office work in the range of RM3k
