Haha, the part where it says "better inventory"...so funny. Intel? Overpriced, much slower than AMD, lesser cores. Cheaper by 1k, maybe can consider la. But then it's still Intel not AMD.

Hi all, I am interested to get a T14 with ryzen 7 and 16gb ram, at the moment the website has a ‘deal’ selling about rm4366 after using CHECKOUT.
Does lenovo have discounts or sales from time to time?
Not in hurry and can wait for delivery.
Thanks all
*
Yes, they do. It's a bit like stock market pricing, sometimes up and down. The best deals are usually during festive season. So, far, the best deal I've seen is 3.3k for full spec X13 after discount for 16GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, touch screen LCD 100%sRGB, 4750U Pro.

Sorry Im new to Lenovo, mind to tell me what is the different between let say T14 (AMD) and L14 (AMD)? What is the different between T and L? I saw L is slightly cheaper.
*
In a broad sense, for the Thinkpad series -> X > T > L > E, in terms of specs, build and quality. Though quality wise they are differentiated by the magnesium alloy and carbon fibre casing.

X being the lightest, followed by T, and E being the heaviest. L is in between T and E. T is typically the business class laptop (which it is famous for). X being the ultraportable version of the T series. For upgradability, T series is the one.

If you are choosing ThinkPad, choose either X or T series.

What do you think of this spec ?

Good deal wor. 100% sRGB at that low price. With MS Office somemore. Upgrade or add another SSD to 1 or 2TB then you have office laptop.

What kind of question is that?
The longer the warranty, the better. So you know within 3 years, your laptop is covered against any hardware failure
Some functions like BitLocker requires Windows 10 Pro, you can't use BitLocker on Windows 10 Home
*
Normal W10 already has device (disk) encryption built-in. You can enable that. Don't need BitLocker (W10 Pro) for that. Most modern laptop nowadays already have this, but sometimes not enabled by default. It's the same functionality as BitLocker minus the fancy stuff.

But at almost whole 1k different in pricing. Kasichanlah.jpg

Lenovo is again on lelong mode when they sells this budget gaming laptop and offering “FRONTLINER” discount. The performance/price it offered is unseen or unmatched for a long time. Be it the lowest variant or highest variant, both are “dirt” cheap for what it’s offering. (Though I don’t really suggest upgrading the 1650 to Ti, it cost RM190 more just for the slightest performance increase, less than 5% IIRC).

I also very tempted in the performance/specs this Gaming Ideapad can offer if I don’t have a working laptop with me (I’ve actually upgraded/side graded 3 laptops in the past 5 years, 2 of them sub RM1.5k cheap pricing but still no reasons to do any upgrade or purchase any time soon...)

Lenovo actually have a spinoff model called Ideapad Creator and it came equipped with a decent display. If I can source this panel for cheap and upgrade the Ideapad Gaming, I might just pull the trigger again. haha

At 2.3k, it's dirt cheap. Even if it is not in the same grade as L5 AMD series. Can be used for office, very powerful.

2.3k-ish pricing with “FRONTLINER” back then, you can’t go wrong at that pricing.

Wow, 2.3k only. Dirt cheap for such spec. Can't compared to Legion 5. Still value for money.

Just purchased a 2tb Crucial P5 NVMe SSD for the Legion 5. Just thought I'd share this to those who are on the fence of upgrading in the future.
Btw this is a PCIe 3 but I'm not sure if the Legion would support PCIe 4?

It was installed on the Legion 5 (Gen 6) which comes with a SSD thermal pad and cover which I presume acts as a heatsink spreader. It's being used as an additional secondary drive as the main boot SSD drive SKHynix is equally as fast. This particular Crucial P5 is known to be quite hot in all the reviews I've seen and I was a little worried especially for a laptop. I'm glad Lenovo included the heatsink/cover plate as I've seen some Legion 5 especially with 60watt battery doesn't come with one but instead occupied with a 2.5 SSD caddy.

At idle the Crucial P5 is around 35c and whilst at load with CrystalDiskMark, I'm getting 63c max
In comparison to the SKHynix, idle is 43c and load at 56c

Temperature wise, it isn't too bad but I guess I had heatsinks to help manage the heat. I was worried initially about super high temperature but if you have the Legion 5s, Pros or 7s, this shouldn't be an issue.

Speed is pretty good and I'm getting speeds close to as advertised. Also I've transferred 32GB files in around 32secs between SSD drives.

Overall I couldn't be any happier.

Btw Love the small little details on behind the back cover

Thanks for sharing. Good stuff!

BTW, how much and where did you got the 2 TB SSD from? Tq.

> just for heck of it and probably inaccurate, I enabled Momentum Cache on the Crucial drive which pages memory to the RAM. The boost is insane
How do you enable that? Can share the steps or configuration? Since my laptop have loads of RAM, this might even speed up the SSD further.

hi, just bought the 14' version, amd r5, 16gb ram yesterday 9pm.

i didnt add the nvidia cuz that would lengthen the shipping date... i saw someone from singapore posted in reddit that he ordered in may 16 2021, then 6 days ago his expected to ship was delayed again to 30th september......

i dont play games so giving up the nvidia is not a problem  wink.gif

it was rm3599 for my configuration, and i was going to use the MASTERCARD promo code (after discount: rm3410+ ?!?), but i decided to chat with lenovo customer service to see if i could get a better price, and i got a slightly lower price which is rm 3383.06  nod.gif

i made some serious research regarding the shipment date, cuz i dont like waiting for so long...

this might give u an idea for the estimated shipping date

You can get from re-seller, at Lazada. Ready stock and better spec at slightly lower price.

i contacted CS and he confirmed that amount has been received. briefly, i saw it was being processed (with the timeline)..then the next day till now, it shows ON HOLD DUE TO credit issue again? wadepak2?

emailed them again, n no response..wth..simple ordering system cannot be done right.

I mean, almost 1k discount
But before i pull the trigger, just wondering if this would have been a good buy?

Anything i should add or cut for a better buy/experience?
Ive never used hello window, nor fingerprint sensor on a laptop, nor a 100%srgb screen

Exactly
Buy from Lenovo : You get advance warranty with onsite support. Means any issue with the hardware, you just have to give Lenovo helpline a call / submit a ticket in their system / email them and they go to your place to fix the issue usually in 1 ~ 3 working days
Buy from local store : Get standard warranty with no onsite support. Means you have to bring the whole PC or the specific hardware to the store to claim warranty & wait between 2 - 4 weeks for a replacement part

The difference is how much are you willing to pay for the onsite support because Lenovo gives several types:
(Depot Support doesn't count as you have to send it back to Lenovo)

Based on the listing for that model, the best value is Premium Care Support 3 yr at RM150 (no brainer). Note that this differs for each model. I'd choose the best value for the buck, for on-site.

Reasonably accurate. From my past 2 units bought. Well, if you complain to them then it may arrive faster (in my case). Lol.
